No CEL Should I be worried??

I know odd question to put up considering all the people stressing about CELs but anyways I remember seeing on here that if the gas cap isnt on tightly enough you should get a CEL and the car goes into limp mode howveer I filled up the other day was cleaning my gas cap area off and forgot to put it back on (I went to check my oil) and drove home (20ish min drive) with my cap off and gas door wide open. My car never cut power or went into limp mode however I only noticed about 10 mins into my drive but didn't stop to put it back on until I got home which was when the CEL light quickly came on then off agaon.

I'm worried that my ECU isn't working correctly alerting me but I am also scared to take it in and have it come back with more problems since I don't have any other issues (other than tail lights)

I say leave it alone and don't take it to the dealership just yet. Maybe mention it the next time you have your car serviced instead of you're really that worried about it.

Agreed, no need to fix what isn't broken, until it's really broken I guess.

Modern cars run a fuel tank pressure test to determine if there is a leak in the Evaporative Emissions system. Cars with a fuel cap warning light usually turn it on after the first EVAP test fails.

A CEL won't come on for a loose fuel cap unless it fails two consecutive EVAP tests.
