I have no doubt that most of the people in this forum open it up when they get a chance but this whole “all the time” thing is either bullshit or just being a diuche.

I'm guessing they mean a cop car though.

You need to respect your machine. I think the certain demographic that this car generally appeals to in many cases doesn't understand that concept. A car can be driven hard in the right situation at certain times however consistently beating on it with hard shifts, etc is not optimum.

I don't drive mine hard. People ask me why did I buy a car that has the ability to be driven hard and for the pleasure of its owner. Well, I love the looks of my BRZ and the feel of driving it even though I drive like grandpa(because I am). I drive the speed limit and take my time getting up to it. I anticipate stops and slow down before using my brakes. I set the rpm alarm at 3000 and have only had it go off maybe 3 times so far. I do not plan on keeping it for a very long time and may trade or sell it if there is a major model change. So...maybe in a few years if plan to do sell or trade remember me. This is the car to buy. NEVER been beaten on and ready for someone who wants a BRZ that has basically been babied and well cared for.

I've been driving mine a little harder lately. Living in the city, I don't have the opportunity anymore to drive 10 min to a country road and I'm going stir crazy if you wanna call it that lol. Instead it's more like 45min and even then, all the rich folks are moving to the nicer country roads to avoid the Austin bustle. The best I get is gunning it onto the highways and 9/10 times I get stuck behind someone going slow as shit. There are a few wonderful roads but everyone else has the same idea. But they treat it like it's a fucking track. I was nearly run off the road by a modified M3. Sorry... rant over.

I think I've done at least 500 launches in this car, I might be on my third clutch by the time the car dies at 200k+ if I manage to put that many miles on it.

Worth it, fun toy, 10/10 would buy again

You know that this is actually worse for the car than redlining it occasionally and blasting through the gears, right?

Seriously, you've only had it at 3k rpm a total of three times? Great, so you're constantly lugging the engine and arguably causing more problems than driving it normally which includes exceeding 3k rpm. Der duh der.

I just don’t want to kill it before 100k but I feel like the car wants to be driven hard if that makes any sense.

I do that with my 27 year old 340,000 mile GS-R. Engine has never had internal work and doesn't burn oil. So keep at it, and be worry free!

I hate to beat on someone for enjoying the car how they like it... but c'mon man! Did you not pay for all 7400 RPM?

I also hate seeing cars for sale that say they've never been driven hard. There's a Cayman GT4 near me that says "climate controlled garage, never been driven in rain, never on a track, never driven hard" and I want to go rescue it and set it free to roar and rip to its heart's content! It's a poor caged beast that was meant to be a mean racecar and that evil man is keeping it trapped away for his precious resale value. It just seems so wrong...

Doubt he will be at it much longer.
