My apologies for my earlier post.

Dear all members in this forum.

Regarding my earlier post about my issue that I was having with my trunk.

I myself speak many languages and English is my fourth language. Pardon my French and grammar but, earlier today I was trying to sneak a quick text without getting myself in trouble.

You guys are entitled to your own opinion and thoughts but, I can asure you that I wasn't trying to be rude or give anyone any attitude.

As some of you know, I'm a new member to this forum and still trying to figure out how to work this out.

I apologize to all for those who thought that I came with straight up attitude so, my apologies to @Leonardo and to all members.

Sincerely yours,
Kamile.

Well, Kamile, that is right good of you -

Oh, sometimes some of us come across a bit harsh, but we generally mean well.

A couple things you may wish to keep in mind when asking questions on this forum:

* be sure to read the owners manual first and see if your situation is addressed in the manual. If you don't have a manual to your car, it's here on line.

* since this machine has been out and this forum active for several years, most all the questions have been asked and answered (or debated to death). So you may uncover the answer to your question by "searching". Hint, use Google search and preface your query with "ft86club".

Now, if you're in a hurry and you are along side the road and you have a flashing CEL (Check Engine Light) shining at you, by all means, just break on in with a post and ask your question.

So, did you get your trunk locking thing explained to your understanding?

Enjoy your new machine and we hope you will find our forum informative - and after you "learn" some of the members, you may find it intertaining -

Dude your fine,
Just don't share your honest opinions about front tow straps. Some members find that any negative comments about tow straps is the same as taking about doing vile things to children.

Ask @humfrz for more info. It's pretty funny.

G'day buddy

Don't worry about the opinionated people who "know" everything, and would rather goob off than answer a simple question.

Everyone at some stage is a newbie.

As stated though, search first, then shoot, I mean ask questions after that.

Me, I think shoot first and ask questions later does has its place.

Someone should start a thread on the usefulness of tow straps on cars that never see a track.

That would be sweet.

Was that how to tell if your trunk light goes off when you close the lid?

Stick a toddler in the trunk with a new toy, then close the lid. If the toddler is quiet, the light is still on, if the toddler screams, the light is off.

Or, did you have something else in mind -

no no, you misread. I was just comparing apples to shotguns shells. I was trying to say something that gets blown out of proportion.

What if the toddler pushes the valet button and then giggles because you can't get into your damned trunk?

It's spooky how well know you know my toddler granddaughter -

Oh, I'd just tell her I have a baa-baa (bottle) out here and she can have it if she pushes the little black button - or pulls the toy handle that glows in the dark -

humfrz

(or I could extract her by using the key in the trunk key slot, if she gets stubborn)

I've never once met a car lock that didn't get at least a little stickier over the years, especially if not used frequently. That stupid trunk lock was hard enough to turn with the tiny key head (on the physical key with the keyless fob) even when it was new. I have a feeling a 10 year old BRZ's trunk might become impossible to open that way.

You could always spray a little bit of grease or WD40 or something into the lock, couldn't you?
