Thank you for clarifying my vague post! Measuring oil pressure from a sandwich plate at the filter, versus a more ideal location like the galley, will always read a bit high.

What temperature was your oil? Coolant only takes about five minutes to get up to operating temperature, while oil can take ten to fifteen minutes. As temperatures rise, pressure will keep dropping.

I haven't driven my car since the end of October, so I can't give you my exact pressure numbers, but this all sounds perfectly normal to me.

the numbers are in line with my car as well. I have the innovate MTX-D gauge and the TRD sandwich plate, and it will stay pinned at 100 when driving until the oil temperature starts to normalize (10-15 minutes, like what was said).

The innovate only reads up to 100 psi, its not uncommon to see 120+ psi on cold starts. What weight oil are you running?

Im running 5w30 and i see 36 psi @ 185F which is abnormally high.

That should provide some good insight on oil pressure and weight @ various temperatures

You would have wanted a gauge that can read to 150psi.
Cold starts can put pressures up to 120-130psi depending on oil grade and oil temps.
For 0w20 you won't see normalized oil pressures until around 175F.
For 10w30 it's around 190F.

Cool. Thanks guys. I'll likely keep the gauge I have. It will still give me the info I need once the engine is warm. I may change the location of the sender at some point but it seems all is well with my oil pressure and that is the important thing. Thanks again boys!

I'll also mention I am very happy with my liquid to liquid oil cooler at this point.

I used to work in Crystal Lake, I'm pretty sure I've seen your car around on Randall before. I got mine in December of 12 and was one of the first in the Mchenry area that I saw, and I remember seeing a red one and thinking "Hmmm that's a nice car...wait, holy shit, another FR-S!"

Good times

I am pretty sure I saw you, a few times, there was only one other red FRS and he worked at DSW in Algonquin.

Haha I think I'm the only ultramarine with a UEL setup out here, so I'm kinda hard to miss these days! You should head up to Streamwood for for their Wednesday night Sonic meets at Mxpi when they start back up, it would be nice to have some more 86 love out there!
