My kids fight over who has to ride in the back seat but they would still rather ride in my car then the family SUV.

Oh, my kids are both in their 30s by the way!

Followed since 2011 but only got really into it when they released the production. I followed that until around 2013 when I decided to make an account on the forums.

hard to believe it has been 4 years :P Time flies.
I was so into the car i decided to download the original GT86 commercial and change the music to something a tad bit more exciting...maybe lol
Now that I watch it again, it's only meh xD

I started watching it when they showed the first concept. Then I was put off by the announcement that it would be a joint Subaru-Toyota project. I joined the forum officially in anticipation of the 2012 NAIAS and made the trip to Detroit to see the car. I have seen a lot of early adopters and fambois come and go since I have been here.

Ironically, after I saw the car in person and really liked it, I decided to put a 2ZZ engine in my MR-S and keep it instead of buying a twin. Eventually, I did convince my son, who accompanied me to the introduction in Detroit, to replace his G35 with an FR-S.

Been a lurker here for quite a while and following the car from the first concept.

Tried going to other sites (shock horror I know) but this one just has all the info I'd ever need and nice people that are happy to get into meaty discussions (relatively free of BS) on every aspect of the car, whether good or bad.

Delighted to say the car exceeded my expectations and feel lucky every day to have one to call my own. Man what a cathartic experience it's been

I was made aware of the FT86 concept early on by a buddy who was a Toyota salesman in Fort Collins CO.

I originally knocked the styling because it looked like it CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH A BODY KIT. Yuck.

Then I saw the production version and became more interested.

Then I read everything I could find about them.

Then I test-drove one.

Then I wanted one.

The end. :-)

I wonder how many of us from '09-'10 actually bought the car. Reading all the speculation was entertaining for sure back then.
