Nice vents I agree the heat is crazy. Love the strut brace was wondering what would clear it and the hood. :-) Any solutions on the CANBUS yet? WGP just did my CAN translator and I got my PS and AC but Temp is reading Celsius and my fuel is still in limp mode. :-/

MRS Electronics and I are working on it. Collin the go too guy at MRS has many other primary functions at MRS besides this one. I keep in touch with him weekly and he just informed me he personally just bought my make/model/year PCM through EBay so things should progress faster. Just so happens I'm going to be in his area next week on business and we are going to meet up.

Pro tip to everyone reading this for CAN stuff: OEM's use C for all the temps in CAN. Don't convert it to anything

I've got my hands on most of the BRZ modules now so I can bench test everything. Still need to get some stock car to log for an extended period of time.

Does the car understeer a lot more with the LS?

Why would it, the weight added was minimal. If anything a turbo kit probably adds as much and in a worse spot. Also, they moved the engine back a fuck ton, which made the front:rear weight distribution better than stock.

Terry Fair A stock BRZ/FR-S has a F/R ratio of 56% front / 44% rear. It is now 52% front / 48% rear with the V8.

It is 56%. Whether better or worse, the handling will change with an LS engine in it. I am curious.

Our guys had the scale readout to show corner bias, not front to rear bias, and I should have noticed this. So the mistake is 100% mine, I own it. A sharp eyed reader on one forum caught this mistake from my last post, and the front-to-rear bias actually didn't change at all - still 56% of the total weight on the nose. But considering what the car gained (134 pounds), with all of the added weight in the middle and front of the car, to manage to keep the same front-to-rear bias was still a good thing. Most AWD and FWD cars we've weighed are closer to 60F/40R, so this V8 FR-S is still ahead of many competitive cars out there. My apologies for posting bad info - mistakes like that drive me crazy - and I have already corrected this mistake on many forums where this thread is posted or re-posted.

For the life of me it over steers first......i would prefer a slight understeer first as the torque it has would easily correct that in a corner......I need to work on a sway bar set up or play with spring rates alignment and more....i have a track day set up for next month to hopefully work with Track Works to iron these issues out and get suggestions......it has a front to back bias as the original car.....I havent gone crazy on horsepower as some and what Vorshlag has plans for (500 whp+) as that in and of itself creates more issues and development work which frankly I dont want to be the guenni pig for......its time for me to enjoy what I have and what Im extremily happy with.....a FRS/BRZ with reliable 350 to the wheel horsepower with grunt out of corners.

My bad, somehow I've never seen, or at least don't remember seeing, that correction.

You going to be at MSR Cresson soon? I'd love to come out and see the car if you're going to be there.

Have you been working with the guys at TTW? I'm sure they could help with dialing in the car at the track.

This whole project started with Texas Track Works first......its seen many ups and downs as one would expect.....the original enthusiasm has diminished quite a bit over time , not sure if the support I was getting in the beggining of this build is the same as it was at TTW.

He has no front sway bar IIRC, so it'll be more likely to oversteer than understeer.

It was far worse until I removed the rear sway bar as well.

Do you recommend that?
I have crazy over-steer issues with mine which has no front sway bar either.
I was waiting for Vorshlag to release a front sway bar kit, but I don't know how long that will be or if it will be affordable.
