Open Flash Header - Sound and Performance Comparison

Sojhinn and I met up today to have a little fun.

We both have virtually the same setup except he does not have an Open Flash Header (OFH) and I do.
Besides that..Sojhinn and I both have the Phantom ESC, OFT, High Flow Secondary CAT and Nvidia Q300 Exhaust.
Sojhinn has a Manual, I have an Automatic

I brought my new GoPro along and we recorded some comparisons to show the difference in sound and performance the OFH makes.

Note: No laws were broken making these videos despite how it may look

Don't forget to change the youtube settings to 720p!

Love the sound comparison. I can't wait to pair my OFH with my Lachute Catback. Sound is going to be nuts and the dip will finally be a thing of the past!

Thanks a lot for these!

Spectacular comparison video, my friend! How's the Cold Start with the OFH, as well as the daily drivable aspect of the car- too drony? It'd be nice if there was a drive by video/sound clip!

Cold start is pretty loud for me but I also have an Ally Garage. The sound just bounces everywhere. I'll try to snag a db measured video of that today.

No drone whatsoever. I'm really happy with that.

Yeah. While driving around in the passenger side it was noticeably louder but no drone or rasp. It sounded awesome but it's definitely louder.

Here's a video with DB recordings

-Cold Start
-Idle
-2,000 RPM Throttle
-3,000 RPM Throttle
-4,000 RPM Throttle
-4,000 RPM Blip
-6,000 RPM Blip
-Drive Off

[ame]http://youtu.be/YFhbgGXqOoE[/ame]

Here is the video I did before the OFH install.
The distances and exact locations were different so the DB ratings can't really be compared one for one unfortunately.

That video, is amazing. We need more of these DB tests while sound differs between videos etc the DB will vary much less when testing loudness!

gotta be careful with db. it can be very misleading. double the distance, db goes down 6db.

db meter taken at 10 cm = 90db

20cm = 84db
40cm = 78db
80cm = 72db
1.6m = 68db

it's a logarithmic scale, so perception of distance to sound is not proportionate. that being said, @nlowell DB rating is likely an accurate comparison. If I was 1m away originally, and 1.6m away after.. then you're looking at maybe a 3-4db difference (lower in OFH video)

anyways, here's mine

This was about 15 miles after head install. It is a bit quieter now.

Agree - took the video in a hurry. Should have re-watched the first to make sure I was at the same distance. For a comparison, the DB on the OFH is probably off 6-10dp compared to the the pre-OFH.

The video in my first post is better for a before and after header comparison since it was shot on the same location on the cars and the cars drove the same path.

Cat-less is cat-less. OFH will smell the same as Borla, JDL, Revworks, etc.
