OFT Help!
Hi guys, newbie here.
I’m really close to having enough money to buy an OFT tablet, but I have a few questions first. - I have a ‘13 Scion FRS A/T with an Injen “pretuned” intake and some random quadtip exhaust a friend gave me. Would the stage 1 tune be fine for this set up or would I have to find a map online for the intake? - Also, I just found out that a few gas stations near me have E85 fuel. I’ve read on some posts that with the OTS tune ONLY, you can run E85, but the general consensus seems to be to get a flex fuel conversion kit. What detrimental effects can running E85 with JUST the tune have on the car? - I have a Macbook Pro as my only computer. I’ve found that most tuning softwares are PC specific. Has anyone found a workaround for this besides dividing the hard drive to also run Windows? (Has anyone tried Wineskin?) - LAST QUESTION. I ABHOR the torque dip on the FRS. I’ve heard headers and a tune will address this issue, but I was wondering to what extent? I’m currently a student living alone, so I have to save for close to a year just to be able to afford something like headers, so I’d like to make the most cost effective investments I can. Oft with OTS tune should run relatively well with a intake. Although it really needs to have the MAF scaled. There are write ups about how to do this.
You can fill up with E85 and use the E85 OTS tune. The flex fuel basically let’s you fill up with your Normal gas (91-93) or E85 or any mix of the two without having to reflash your tune accordingly. You can eliminate the torque dip entirely with a good catless header and a tune. E85 is the icing on the cake. |
