FR-S / BRZ no trunk liner?

Was looking at the Scion site is the FR-S really going to come with no trunk liner? How about the BRZ?

FR-S: No. BRZ: Yes. Either way no BFD.

There goes your weight saving program at the cost of increased road noise.

Really, no sarcasm. Saving on such basics its.... you know, beyond my understanding.

I'd probably splurge for the weathertech digital fit liners when the car comes out. I regret not getting these for my elantra - they are great according to other forum members. - http://www.weathertech.com/

$5 over 10,000 cars is $50K. Enough to make two or three FR-Ses pure profit.

I wonder how much the parts and associated screws will be. if that is not too much, I would just buy it and cover it off myself.

I seriously doubt it will be just 5 dollars.

They probably lost some sales at the margin to the BRZ or elsewhere by looking so cheap though. Say.1% on 10k units, that is 10 lost sales.

Not to mention the exposed wires in the trunk could be ripped loose by getting caught in trunk contents sliding around.

Certainly not at retail, but in a factory doing 1000s a year, totally different costing.

Maybe we can just buy the part from the Subie parts dept and pop it in? I would gladly spend $50 for that.

Savings need to be had wherever they can, I'd think.

I'm sure it will be easy to install if you really want it.

Honestly my current car doesn't have it and I never even noticed until someone was complaining that their model didnt have it but the next package up did.

I'm hoping to get a BRZ so I'll sell it to one of you FRS guys if you care that much. ^_^
