It's not an average, it's interpolated values. For example in a simplistic 2D map:
Lower Cell: 4000RPM, value 10
Upper cell: 4400RPM, value 16
@4100RPM the interpolated value is 11.5
@4200RPM the interpolated value is 13
@4300RPM the interpolated value is 14.5

This obviously becomes more complex with 3D tables as you'll almost never be directly on one cell and actually be interpolating between 4, 2 on each axis. However using this to your advantage can allow you to make smaller incremental changes than the table values would suggest.

Tons of good info, thanks a ton @steve99 for all these great threads. I am having trouble locating the definiton files to get my romraider going. On the OFT website it only shows them for the v1.X tunes but I don't see anything for the v2.0 tunes.. I must be missing something..

I really appreciate the help, I feel like I am making it more complicated than it should be. The download page has really thrown me off.. I have found 3 different pages
http://openflashtablet.com/Automotiv...ads/index.html
http://openflashtablet.com/downloads/index.html
http://openflashtablet.com/products/...ads/index.html

The Second Link - Romraider XML files does not show anything for D00C.bin after being unzipped and searched through.
The Third Link - "v2.0 OFH+ESC with 1.5 Dump Pack Upgrade [BETA 6MT only]" is the same thing, unzipped and searched through everything, nothing on the D00C.bin. This link I feel does not apply to my car anyway but could be mistaken.

I noticed there are 2 XML definition options that came from the first link "Off-The-Shelf (OTS) Maps for naturally aspirated configurations" The third link does have the D00C.bin option. As far as definitions, I am given two options in the XML folder.
V2.06XML
V2.07XML

I have tried adding both (not at the same time), neither which seem to pull up the launch control/FFS options as shown in the thread.. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...launch+control
Suggestions?

unfortunatly the latest roms for late 2014 and 2015 cars dnt have the lc\ Ffs patch in the roms so you dont have that feature you could ask the oft guys if they are still working on it.

to be honest i tried both and your not missing much.

the ESC tunes are for electric super charger.

the 2.06 defs should be fine not sure what the 2.07 ones are maybe future release.

their website does not force updates to your browser chche so best to clear browser cache then access their website that way you get latest page not a cached page, i run with clear cache on exit so dont run into that issue.

I don't want to deviate from the OP question but I'm using the 2.07x files on my oft, is there a difference from 2.06x and 2.07x?

Any help is welcome

That might be what I uploaded into RR, I compared both 2.06 and 2.07 and they appeared identical, so no worries running 2.07 definitions in RR? Sorry I'm still new to OFT/RR tuning.

@steve99 with regards to cold start, how does the cam locking come into play? I thought that the VVT's stay at 0 for a short while at startup?

AVCS has no impact at idle.
