AVCS Filters/Screens Removal?
I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine after it spun a rod bearing and noticed that we have screen filters in the heads going to the AVCS solenoids. I'm going to remove them since they're in a location that's really hard to get to and I'd rather not ever have to deal with those things clogging for whatever reason! Some oil is better than no oil in my mind.
Anyone else removed them on an FA20? Turns out that the other Subaru engines have similar filters, but theirs are in the banjo bolts for the AVCS lines and the consensus seems to be to remove the buggers. Simple Google Search Results |
