@shellslinger, @Stang70Fastback, @SuperDave, One more question for you guys. What part of warranty was it cover under? 3yr bumper to bumper or 5 yr powertrain?

Your issue turned out to be exactly what I described. One more time for the tl:dr crowd - lubricant failure plain and simple.

Mine was still under 36k, so I was covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. The actual clutch is a wear item, and is only covered up to 36k; it isn't covered under the powertrain warranty. Perhaps the TOB and other parts are different, but the clutch disk itself isn't covered past 36k.

Well everyone, I replaced my clutch to a Exedy stage one clutch. Squeaky clutch never came back after lubing it a month ago but after ordering the stage one clutch, I was like why the heck not. My throwout bearing looked fine and didn't look like it was bad or anything. I didn't get any photos but my new clutch feels exactly like my brother's NC Miata's clutch just a tad bit springier maybe @humfrz might want to do this

Well, shellslinger, thanks for thinking of me ...... but, these days, if my clutch got any springier, I'd have to trade it in for an auto ......

At about 76k. Noticed a squealing noise when I started the car up on Friday morning. Would only make the noise when the clutch is depressed and would go away with about 2 mins of driving. Tried adding some Lucas Red and Tacky under the boot near the clutch fork and it still makes the noise. The noise gets worse if I rev the engine while the clutch is depressed. Looks like the TOB is finally about to go.

That's the TOB seizing up. If it takes as long as 2 minutes to let go it has probably already damaged the PP fingers.

How about a whining noise when my foot is OFF the clutch, but goes away when I depress the clutch pedal? Input shaft bearing?

Whining, or screeching? My backup transmission whines twice as badly as my original which I removed to rebuild. It started making a little noise after I gave it a good whack.

I knew better but was in the moment. :/

Whining, whirring noise. Not a screech. I'm talking about a sound that occurs when the car is stationary or moving. The whine increases with RPMs, then resets when you change gears. It definitely seems input shaft related.

Yeah, same same. Volume of the whine increases with torque. It could be a bearing on either the input or mid shaft. It could also be due to some axial misalignment. My spare even complains when I upshift. I can hear the rapid decrease of the input side as the syncro pulls it down.

Exactly. Same here. I guess it's "normal" then. I have no problem with hearing those noises (I know there isn't much sound deadening) but it's just something I swear I only started hearing recently.

It's not normal but if you're just cruising along, it won't suddenly grenade. It may take many tens of thousands of miles to get worse.
