Sounds good... I'll do that. Soo relieved right now

Or you can just put in a gallon or two of 100 octane

Alright guys, I just got my FRS on Friday and I, stupidly, put a full tank of 89 octane in it yesterday. I'm definitely noticing the knocking. 93 octane is pretty readily available around me and now that I know how bad anything less is I will be using that in the future.

But what should I do about this tank? Should I wait until it's almost empty to fill it or can I put some in around half a tank?

When I got mine the dealer filled it with 89. I was pissed but they stood strong on the fact that premium is only "recommended". I pulled the manual and showed them where it says "minimum of 91" and they said "OOOOOOH sorry".
Burnet through it in a couple of days then put the proper stuff in it. Just take it easy while you use it up and there will be lasting effects. Don't panic if it takes a couple of days to come back to full power even with the new gas as the ECU has to relearn everything.

You shouldn't be running at full power on your new motor

Same happened to me. I didn't ask them about it but I knew right away that they had put 89 octane in it by the way the engine was behaving. Next time at the pump I put in premium and could tell the difference immediately. It's hilarious how people think that fuel rating doesn't make a difference.

Been said about 100 times already in this thread. Oh, and 91 is still premium.

It's also if bit funny that so many people think running a tank of anything less will utterly destroy your engine, as if the people who built the totally forgot that sometimes you can't always get high octane fuel.

What are you running? Considering how 94/93 isn't ethanol free and full of additives, I'm currently running 91 shell, but have jumped around a few times to see if there was any benefit, and haven't noticed any yet...
