Another thing which is not clear to me is if the new BRZ STI car will be based just on a few added parts like springs, wheels, exhaust and aero kit. First generation STI JDM cars had many more changes including thicker rear axle shafts, different suspension (Showa/Bilstein), additional chassis stiffening, harder bushings, pillow ball bushings, different brakes, bucket seats (Recaro). Looks like that the new STI will be lightly tuned.
I think we can assume suspension tune at the very least. If it's not, and it's just some stick on stuff, I'd say it's a pretty poor buy.

The first tS was such a good example.

I think all the R&D done with the first gen will serve as base for the second gen car. There is not much more to research as the platform is essentially the same.

Bro's, what's on the Giulia is a spoiler.

A wing is when air can pass underneath as well.

I can't believe folks really hate the new rear end. I think it looks good but safe like how Porsche plays it safe unless its one of their GT or hypercars.

I like it. The people that claim it looks like a Buick are focusing on the details too much and are ignoring the proportions. I’m betting it looks great in real life.

It’s not growing on me. I’ll keep my 16. More torque would be nice but my 16 is paid for so that little bit of torque for thousands is not worth it honestly.

I like most the new engine, but with an expense of a better handling. Main issue not focusing in all areas looks to be the price that will go higher. STI prototype is already showing this problem and how they are trying desperately to keep the price low. It looks that they didn't upgrade the suspension (apart from new springs) or even the brakes. For years journalists were saying that the STI car should have a better engine and not a better handling. Now that they will get a better engine, let's see how it'll go ...

Now that I've gotten used to the new design, the only thing from the first gen I'll really miss is the front fender bumps from the side view.

Seems like a large percentage of positives involve it looking like something else, or reminding someone of something else, which is one of the primary reason I don't like the design.

Out of curiosity, is the new version already for sale in Japan? Sure seems to be a lot of them on the street based on pics, or is it just the same cars over and over again?

They all have the badges covered up, so they must be test cars.

That's likely a consequence of the manufacturers choosing to go with what is really a conservative design that has few unique aspects. Being somewhat generic it reminds one of design elements common to other cars of its type.
