I have had Ipike's, Blizzak's, and Hakkapeliitta's. I think that the Nokian (hakkapeliitta) tires are the best.

Yeah, they're still probably the best, but they're not nearly the runaway there where when I first started seeing them at ice races back in the late 80s or so. They were SO much better than even the next best tire (back in the days of Gislaveds, Vredesteins, etc) it wasn't even funny. Nowadays, it's hard to find a genuinely BAD snow tire... I currently have Conti WinterContacts, which are fine. Prior to these I had Dunlop Graspic DS2s, which I thought were slightly better when they were new. I'd recommend either, really...it's more an issue of what characteristics you like in a tire.

I was in Finland, where Nokian's are made, and saw a "million" Porsche's. WOW! It was awesome! Someday, I would like to go to winter camp.
