It could be argued by some that the 80's held some of the worst car designs ever, but seeing some of the those design elements captured on a new car in the way you have done makes me think those engineers of the 80's were not so crazy. Excellent job.
On another note, I'm interested in knowing if those gauges were easy to install and if they work fully with the BRZ gauges (some other people have suggested the lights for the BRZ and FRS are different, so the gauges would only be perfect on the FRS and GT86 platforms)? |

I don't comment on builds often, but this one compelled me. I love it. Great vision here, not run of the mill, well executed. Keep it up!

Love the build, and dat louvre. I was never really into the old school JDM look, but living in Cali for 2 years has changed my perspective for sure. Car is looking good. Love the gauge cluster too.

Sorry guys for the late replies. I thought I was getting notifications for this topic but it turns out I wasn't...

For the cluster overlays, they are very easy to install but th Fey do require a bit of patience and hand dexterity, especially for when you need to reset the needles. All in all, it took me 2 hours which is very reasonable for someone like me with very little experience. They work fully for the BRZ, I have been following the product since before its release and am not aware of the difference you speak of. It's the same kit for both except for the needle caps that are a bit different. Quote:
Thanks man ! cheers |

Installed a STi flexible strut tower bar this weekend. Can't tell the difference yet (if any) because I am still on winter tires.
* Not my engine bay, picture for reference! |

First time seeing your car, I'm not too big of a fan of that "retro" badge, but aside from that, I think your car looks amazing. Nicely done man.

Thanks man ! regarding the badge, i'm curious to know why? I might reconsider if it looks too out of place, it's not installed yet.

I think you're doing a great job with making it look old school, so it doesn't really need something to tell you that it's old school IMO, feel me?

In my opinion, I would much rather see "Retro" than "Subaru". I want to remove "Subaru" and put an STI badge in its place. I just hate the "Subaru" silver badge it has. I just think it's redundant since it has a huge subaru logo... but that's just me. BTW I'm thinking about buying a TRD Louver cause I saw how nice it looked on your BRZ.
