what a mean dealer!

My Corolla needed Takata airbag check/replacement on top of oil change, so I did not want to wait, got a loaner. The dealership did not want to give me an FR-S, I don't know why ;-D.

I am stuck with a Yaris...

On the other hand, I went to the showroom, chatted with a salesman who did not say anything stupid about the FR-S (so he maintained the iM was Mazda3, is it true? [no it's not I just checked]). I also sat in the FR-S for the first time and quite liked it :-).

No the iM is not a Mazda 3. They are frequently compared though so that may be what confused him.

Once you sit in a FRS then you are hooked! Wait until you actually drive one.

Don't drive one. You'll want it right then and there.

It's the Scion iA that is a rebranded Mazda 2.

At some point I will.

The seating position is interestingly low, and it's funny how there is ton of legroom in the front when you move the seat far back, both passenger and driver... but then you look at the back seat and there is like 2-cm "legroom".

Seems that I'd be able to do my (so much vilified) left-foot braking without a problem.

One thing I was not entirely sure about the seating position was the thigh support. Which is pretty bad in my Corolla, it's much better in newer Corollas, was quite good in the FRS but not perfect. Still I have not had time to fiddle with the seat a lot. It would be nice if raising the seat actually raised the entire seat, not only the back of it.

With some adjustments you can certainly make the seat much better.

I struggled with seating position for quite some time in my FR-S.. But I sat down and actually fiddled with it for a good 20 minutes or so testing the steering wheel, where my legs rested, how my vision was, how the pedals felt, and most importantly how it felt to shift gears.

It takes a little bit to find the perfect position. But I have memerized it so I can always return it to my position after my GF drives or anyone else fucks with the seat.

Yup! after 14 months, I'm still trying to perfect it. Though it doesn't help that my dad makes slight adjustments to it when he takes it to work while I'm on the road.

Nobody has even sat in my seat (well other than the dealership) and it has not moved from where I set it on day one. I found the perfect position and there it stays.
