Side markers

Does anyone else have any issues with the side marker metal clips falling off the actual side marker? Would drilling into the plastic piece where the metal clip would go be a smart move because I just wanna zip tie them at this point

In my case, I put super glue into the hole and put the clip on. I've had no issues since.

Mine fell off at highway speeds and was hanging on by the wire. The side marker was swinging wildly and messed up my wheel and fender.

I was trying to pull over but some dumbass porsche slowed down next to me thinking I saw a cop or wanted to race.

I bought new side markers, bent the metal teeth in the "A" section so it bites into the plastic, and used hot glue.

I also spent a 1/4 bottle of superglue on both sidemarkers. They're practically welded to my bumper now - no complaints

I've never had this problem - does it only happen to newer cars?

I bought the clear OE JDM side markers. They were such a pain. I think it took me three hours and I ended up mixing and matching every single clip from both sets of side markers. I was sweating bullets thinking I was ruining my car more by the minute. It's just a piss-poor design. In the end I got them perfect...then realized I'd left the clear bulbs in so they looked like pale urin with the lights on. I just left them. I felt like I was extremely lucky to get everything back together tight and flush. I'm never doing that again if I can help it. I think it's worth persevering with the clips if you can. Good luck.
