Thanks guys. With the new welder in we have been cranking these out! 5 more of you will have tracking this week along with a few combos coming from our coaters.

I actually got to fondle 2 of these over the weekend (touch dat collector). Fantastic piece of art, however I do not care for the sound it makes. I think with a clever collection of mufflers/resonators this can be made to sound good, though.

Curious about why you don't like the sound; is it because of the "boxer rumble" or something else?

on all of the JDL equipped NA cars, it produced varying levels of raspy noises. I think one of the JDL cars we threw on the dyno ended up not being raspy, but I do not remember what combination of other sound modifiers were installed on that car. None of them sound like imprezas, either. In the videos it seems like they sound more like an impreza, but in real life it is a bit different.

I do believe most of them were running, no cats, or no mufflers (@Ninjin lol). If I end up doing the JDL, it will have all cats and mufflers and have as much resonation as possible. Thats what gets the raspy down to a minium.

Mine has very minimal rasp and sounds as much like my Bugeye as it will without a turbo. I am running the JDL header/overpipe and then an Invidia straight pipe and N1 catback. I was worried about having rasp with the catless midpipe, but you can barley hear any rasp and it has a deap throaty subie rumble along with a nice crackle/pop when i let off the gas after my tune from @FA20Club.com

Like @sictev said, most of them are essentially running straight pipes so rasp will be there and I am sure it's day and night hearing video clips compared to the real thing. It wont sound like an impreza, nor do I want it too, but I plan on running mine on the stock exhaust until next spring. I just want a little rumble to get me by

Still hoping someone with the stock exhaust system would swing on by and post a video of how the header sounds before I get mine so I can grow even more impatient and giddy as I live vicariously through them
