Clutch Install/Transmission/Shifting
I installed a Stage 2 Daily South Bend clutch yesterday.
I also put in: -2.2 L of Motul 75w 90. -New OEM flywheel -pivot -fork Ever since I first test drove it till now, I have been finding it twice as hard to shift to first gear and ONLY first gear. I can even get Reverse easier. Also, my shift knob goes left (when on neutral) HALF of the distance it goes right (on neutral). I have gaven it some thought. The only things I can think of is the washer under the shift boot is in the way, or was never there to begin with (I dont remember and my pictures didn't cover that portion). I did completely fuck up the rubber boot, and used electrical tape to seal it again, but I don't really think it's that. Could it be the white plastic on the shift? If youve done a clutch install please chip in or if you're a mechanic wizard as well.

Sounds like you missed something when reinstalling the shifter. Time to go back in and find out what you missed.
When I did my throw out bearing I did everyone from bottom. Taking off the center console was just too much of a hassle.

Will need to take off boot and see what it's catching on. It's not an emergency, at least I can get it to first, just kinda ruins the whole point of getting good transmission fluid. Thanks.

The part in that diagram that is labeled "Shift Lever Cap" has some adjustability to it. It's the part of the reverse lockout. If that thing isn't right it will also sort of lock out 1st/2nd. I had to fiddle with mine when I did my TOB. I verified it was right before putting everything back together.
I took my center console apart because I couldn't get that stupid rubber boot off from the bottom and thought that I could release it from above. What a waste of time that was. Like @Mr.ac said, no need to remove anything from the top. Next time I am in there to do a clutch, flywheel or TOB the job will be dramatically shorter thats for sure. At least you don't have to tare it down too far to get to it. Still a pain though. I got lucky and noticed mine was all messed up before putting everything back together.
