Looking forward to your impressions (both install and driving).
After reading through the install guide a couple of times (better safe than sorry), I'm not intimidated much. The one step I originally overlooked when it was posted here weeks ago was flipping the clutch line fitting at the slave cylinder to allow for more clearance. I was planning on installing the ACT clutch we're running this weekend anyways so it all works out in that sense, I can just do it now.

Having seen all things included with the kit I was actually pleasantly surprised with the weight. It's not light by any means but with the size of all of the hard parts (manifold, blower unit, heat exchanger, etc..) I had expected it to be heavier. I'm fairly positive the note about having two people drop the unit in together is more intended to avoid damaging any of the wire harnesses or hoses that have been routed to that general area during the install. I can easily pick up the 60 lb unit myself, but maneuvering it into place precisely at that weight is not as simple.

We are trying to do a very thorough install documentation so I would expect it to be completed in 7-10 days. Waiting is the hardest part...

The list of related OE weights should be significantly shorter (Intake manifold, Intake piping and filter, Plastic covers on A/C compressor and Alternator) but I'll get them weighed after for comparison.

Oh baby, got this bad boy in yesterday. Will follow suit with install pics as well. So far this kit looks pretty awesome. Even included a binder with documentation, a very nice touch.

I noticed you're going to install a Koyo radiator. I am as well and foresaw a clearance issue that might arise with a thicker radiator. I have measured and you will lose about 1/2" of clearance between the condenser and the crash beam when going to the Koyo. As a result the crash beam will need sectioning. I'm in the process of doing this. Below shows my first initial cut. I will clean it up and cap it.

Btw, this is a badass sc kit!

Cutting that bumper seriously weakens it's ability to absorb crash energy...

I did state that I was going to cap the cut out. Most of its strength should be restored.

Nitro22, do you think some spacers to move the crash beam forward would've worked?
Perhaps trimming the foam attached to the front may be required after doing this, but I recall that foam being pretty thick. Good work on the clearance cut though. I believe you have restored if not strengthened the crash beam over stock.

Thanks! That's a good point about spacing. For some reason in my head I had a feeling that shifting anything forward would cause headaches with bumper fitment. I knew the method I used kept my boundary conditions the same.

Maybe someone could try the spacer method to make life easier for everyone.

Both fitment changes will make a difference in the way the body reacts in a crash. As long as you close the crash bar the change would be less over 5 mph. The cutting of the foam and the shimming of the crash bar would affect the level of damage 5 mph or lower also the moving of the crash bar forward will increase the leverage of an off center hit above 5 mph

Just seeing this. Yes I had installed a cosworth and Vortech kit on other cars previously with upgraded radiators and knew this would be an issue.

All I did was flip the grommets in the upper radiator brackets upside down and reinstalled. This allowed everything to line up. Fitment is tight, the welds between core and end tanks do touch the beam but it doesn't look like it'll be an issue.

On the other kits I've done the LTR were not as thick so it wasn't as big of a deal. But ours is massive.

right now... the weight is only thing that really turns me off. I know the power way more than makes up for it in terms of speed, but what about dynamics? There is 60 lb added up high in the engine bay, and 20 lb more spread out in other places.

What's the weight of the JRSC? The JRSC weight is more forward, so maybe it's not much better?

You are correct that there is more weight added up high, but the nice thing is, because of its location, its still mostly between the wheels (ie weight in the "middle" of the car), so at most the center of gravity is not as low, but the polar moment of inertia should be relatively the same. Other kits, like JRSC and most of the turbos, are placed way up front shifting the weight balance forward.
