RK Sport Hood?

http://www.ilovebodykits.com/product...FQLZQgod6Q4AJQ

Anyone have any experience with this hood?

Long story short someone backed into me and I need a new hood so Im trying to explore options. The fact the CF hood looks nice but is heavier kinda turns me off a bit TBH.

imo it looks ridiculous and not to mention that a real carbon fiber hood shouldn't be heavier

some people just want to mod their car whether it's for better or for worse. Too bad that owner chose to mod for worse. Hideous hood on this car, and hideous color.

I believe its just primer, and ready to paint whatever color you should choose? I might be wrong. I personally love the hood, but wouldn't justify getting it unless I had a reason for the scoop. Maybe a top mount oil cooler or something ridiculous like that

If this car had a top mount, or you were running boost and had potential heat issues I could understand that hood. I for one am not a fan of "scoops to nowhere".

I would only get a carbon hood for this car if it reduced weight. As shown here even the factory style seibon hood actually increased the weight:

Completely pointless.

Seibon doesn't make their hood out of 100% carbon fibre - they use fiber glass and other such things for structure to help reduce cost and make it easier for them to mass produce. Hence their weight, production volume and price.

I'm not actually running the hood on my car; I let them use my car to test fitment, and they gave me the first production hood as a 'thanks'. They were a great company to work with, when I was there.

The hood is unpainted and sitting in my garage until (if and when) I decide to put it on.

I actually did like the way it looked, and it's fully functional for someone with an aftermarket SRI (intake). The scoop doesn't just dump out above the engine, it has an inner 'liner' (for lack of a better word) that has a channel that forces air to where the factory airbox is and increases airflow to those who have an intake solution with the filter in the factory location.

Well maybe not everybodys taste but in principle this car needs a hood vent for the heating problems some tuners have had specially when going Forced Induction.

that would be an awesome hood if you did a turbo setup and you installed an STI top mount intercooler and used that to cool it. Would probably get all the fly bitches who swoon over the FR-S.
