Lol the STI is awesome, not rwd though, on the inside I wish I would of waited, but like I said the offer was sweet. @BRZmass12 Good luck hopefully the car ships soon. I was told frankly that just because I was the first pre-order doesn't mean my car would be the first one shipped there... Then I was offered the STI and oh man I wish I could of said no... but I couldn't!

I understand where you're coming from Canibuz. The STI is definitely a sweet drive. I spoke with the Subaru rep at the UMass show on Saturday and he had some interesting information.

As you mentioned, just because you are the first at your dealer doesn't mean that you are guaranteed in getting the first allocation. He said the cars will be distributed based on when they were put into the system. For example if I am 1st at my dealership, but someone else is 4th at theirs they could still get their car first if they ordered before me.

He also said that Subaru of New England ordered around 400 BRZs and they will be distributed throughout the year. 80% will be manuals with the rest being automatics. He also said that he will be the person who will be calculating the allocation and expects to have it finalized this week.

Basically SNE will be receiving around 50-60 in the 1st allocation in May with each dealership receiving 0-4 based on prior sales. He didn't know what color or trim they would be receiving. He said I stood a good chance of receiving one in the 1st or 2nd allocation since I ordered on 3/2 for whatever that's worth.

Once they are told which models/colors they will be receiving in the 1st allocation SNE will then determine how these will be broken out by dealer, then they will look at the order list and will match each car with an owner based on when and where they put in their order. Pretty convoluted system if you ask me!

A completely retarded system, the guy you spoke to seems way higher up than my dealer but what I was told is basically... Between April 30th and June 30th, they are getting their first allocation of cars. If I was first for the BRZ I should of gotten it in that time frame, but it wasn't guaranteed. Basically SNE was going to get whatever they got. And my dealer would get whatever was distributed to them. Then I would have the right of refusal on up to 3 BRZ's before I'd lose my spot in line. So if no WRB M/T with my options came in I'd either choose something else or not. He told me that it couldn't promise the car I ordered would be in the first allocation. Then I was shown this... he could of been lying just trying to push an STI... but man the Ice Silver Metallic color was new for 2012 and OMG it took me by surprise. My friend has an '11 STI with an Invidia Q300 and protuned. And damn it was a fun drive. When I took this one for a test drive in Intelligent & Sport sharp I didn't feel the 4-5k hesitation that everyone complains plagues the stock tune... then I just couldn't say no for the deal I was offered.

The rest is history! Sorry for the blurry picture!

I wouldn't take his word to serious. Unless you're talking about another person. The guy who brought the BRZ to the show was just a factory worker.

That's what I thought too. Have you heard anything about how it will all work?

No, not really. I would've asked more questions about that subject, but once he blurted out that he was factory worker I figured I should just stick to asking him questions in regards of driving. He's driven both manual and auto of the premium and limited BRZ's, as expected, he told me the manual would be his choice over the auto and a tie between the trims, but if he had to choose it would be the limited over the premium.

Thanks for the reply. He told me that he would personally be the one who figured out the allocation this week...maybe he was just feeding me a line, but he seemed to know a lot about how the process would work.

Guess I'll just wait and see like everyone else.

Comments: This dealer had only 1 BRZ alotted and I hooked it. The manager said they could do it for $28,495, asked for $1,000 refundable deposit. They were guestimating late July/early August. But after talking with SOA they were saying probably June but didnt have any info on my VON.
