The rears look great but I cannot stand that face profile of the front wheels (8.5's). The raijins were my #1 choice before they came out, but once I saw the real things, namely the 8.5" version I was completely turned off.

That's about as close as I can get to stock while still having a lot of tire options available. My only problem is that the fronts are ever slightly so bigger than the rears. Won't be noticeable, but going 235/35R18 up front leaves me with a few tire choices.
I think that is the best choice and it is a common one among staggered fitment setups on the FR-S. I agree, I wouldn't go with 35 profile in front -- 225/40 would be perfect.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

If one looks closely, the front rim spokes are convex while the rears are concave. This is of course due to the rim with and off-set but that would prob look like crap in person. I need my rims looking the same all around. It is a shame because I was thinking about getting a set of Rajins.

Is there a way to use concave set up all the way like the rear. Do they have size 18x9 +40 fit front and rear ?

Nope you would have to run 9.5's all around which would definitely require coilovers for inner clearance.

From the pictures, the spokes design is BBK friendly

Very nice. How much more is in the rear? Can these cars fit say a 275 or 285 wide tire?

It does look like it needs wider tyres on the rear. It's strange, 255/35 shouldn't look that stretched on a 9.5" wheel.

I think the rear tires look great with the current amount of stretch. If anything, I think the front tires could be slightly narrower (i.e. 225/40).

Is your car lowered?

When I got it installed I immediately wish I had them in 265. I looked up pics of 255 on 9.5 but I guess DWS runs narrow
