Coming Soon- Polycarbonate Windshields & Rear Windows
Within the next month, we will be selling lightweight windshields and rear windows for BRZs, FR-Ss, and 86s!
We've gotten molds made for high quality polycarbonate windshields and rear windows that will be formed to fit and pre-cut, with a standard anti-fog coating and abrasion-resistant coating. We're currently looking at 4-5 week lead time for the first batch. If you're interested, they're listed on our website. We'll bill shipping separately once we get the first batch. Windshield: https://gspeed.com/product/brzfrs86-racing-windshield/ Rear Window: https://gspeed.com/product/brzfrs86-racing-rear-window/ While we've yet to weigh the new windows, we're estimating 10-15 lbs saved per piece installed. We'll update this thread as we move forward, and answer any questions we can! |

That's really a nice to have a US provider for only windshield.
Price is pretty good compared to a glass windshield as well. I think the main thing here is to make sure these will be compatible with your running class. If these were available when I replaced my windshield I would have definitely be taker. We'll see when mine is pitted enough to justify the expense Looking forward to see the final thickness and weight.

How about removable side windows? Basically a "Travel window" that is used on a race car with no door panels or windows. They need to just slot in from outside the car and provide a weather seal for transportation and parking the car.

The thicker one might be, but we have to install it and see. If necessary, we'll make a bar to sell with it.
If these sell well enough, yes. Tooling costs are high enough we need to make sure there's enough market for these first. |

Can you show pictures of the drilling for mounting fasteners.
How abrasion resistant are these? |

Yes, once we have the final pieces and install them on our car, we'll be providing full installation instructions. These have an abrasion-resistant coating, but they're still more scratch-prone than glass.

Here are some pictures of the front and rear windows that are being installed. The fitment is just about perfect. There aren't any holes drilled, since different owners will want different hardware (nut & bolt, nut-serts, quarter-turn, etc.).
