Drift/ Autocross or Open driving Events

So I have an idea how to drift and have messed around in empty parking lots as well but I am looking for a place or event that goes on where I could practice either messing around with drifiting or auto cross.

Obviously practice makes perfect and I am looking for an event/school/some place where I can go to mess around and practice these things. Anyone know of a place?

Autocrossing happens at Devens in Ayer, MA, the clubs being: BMWCCA, SCCA, Renegade Miata, Trackclub USA etc...

Up at NHMS, drift spot has drifting events, and autocrossing also happens there.

Do they have an open track time to practice or is it just the races an events?

Autocross is almost always timed events, and I'm not sure about Drift Spot. Kevin who runs Drift Spot is actually on these forums and owns a BRZ so he'd be the one to find... hopefully he'll see this thread.

At Drift Spot, it's open drift days. Bring a helmet, tires and a good attitude and fun will be had We use the parking lots at NHMS so the event is very safe and extremely low pressure. Our next event is Saturday, August 11th. Cost is $75 to participate if you sign up early. If you are unsure about participating, it's $10 to spectate.

Do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any more questions. Here are some links to information about the club:

You could aways do a track day/ time trials event at a real race track.

EMRA has an event at Lime Rock on August 25th. If you are new you will be put in a school run group and you will have one on one instruction on track and have classroom sessions after each run session.

The cost is $275 for the event and an extra $75 for the time trial school/license. It maybe seem like its a lot of money, but You are getting about 75 minutes of track time plus instruction.

The website is www.emraracing.org
If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Since you are in RI you should check out CART too. The autocross at Thompson speedway in CT. ADSI is right in RI and has autox events as well, although they are not officially timed and scored like an autox.
