That front is just too busy. I love the rear of the car, and its new engines. But, jeez, let me see the other body kits released to change that euw front.

It's funny that's pretty much how I feel about everything EXCEPT the front on the FRS. I don't love the new GC front, but I love the sides, the rear, and the interior.

I really love the front end on the FRS as well as the side window lines, but as soon as you go past those front turn signal lights by the wheel I just palmtoface. Not to mention the interior, it has a very 80s-90s feel, but that's not a good thing IMO.

I'm addicted. lol

Lol, it looks like they just copied the Nissan GT-R, Mitsubishi Evo and Eclipse front and made.. whatever that is of a front. You're right, the sides and rear are beautiful. And, I think when we see the FR-S with some real paint in metallic colors other than renderings, we will see the shapes and design pop. This is one of the most aerodynamic cars out there.

Also reminds me of the rendering I did of the BRZ..

Those times are mfgr underestimates. When the gc was launched they said 6.6 and 7.9 for the 3.8 and 2.0. They will be closer to 5.4 and 6.2 with the added hp. They won't be slower than their current under powered versions.

It may be heavy compared to the FRS, but compared to other similar cars, its lighter or about the same (Mustang, G37).

Hyundai estimated Hp is overrated. When they say 350hp, you probably get 320hp.

Incorrect. If the refreshed GC is anything like the current GC they are spot on or underestimated numbers. The current 2.0T advertised as 210hp actually has anywhere from 225-236chp, and lose less than 10% through the drivetrain which is pretty damn efficient. I would guess the engine is putting out EvoX numbers, but the rear wheels will see around 255-260rwhp.

No car manufacturer tells the hp ratings at the wheel. lol Do you expect 200rwhp from the FRS?

Did I say I expect hp to be the same as whp?
I'm just saying power is overrated.

I can get used to the front. The weight is still a turn off though...

This car just grabbed my interest. It might be something to look at instead of the FRS. It's heavier but it has a better power to weight ratio AND far superior braking hardware (if specified with the Brembos). And don't forget how easy it is to get more horsepower from a turbo motor. Definitely something to think about.

If the rev1 2.0T got 6.2 sec 0-60 (no ringer) then the FT-86 will likely better that. As you guys were ranting about earlier in another thread, lets see how fast they are on the street and not the "ringers" they hand to the magazines. No double standards now

I seem to recall at launch them saying that on high octane fuel the GC 2.0 was 235hp? That's the number I've always used in my head.....

Anyway... 10% drivetrain loss in a rwd car is ridiculously low. Not likely.

If Hyundai kept the old look, and spec'ed their R versions to actually come in at less than 3000lbs, I'd be all over one.

As is, can all the people that grumble about the FT-86's lack of power go and join gen coupe forums now and maybe moan about the excess weight there while they line up to buy one anyway?
