FA20Club STG1 reflash. Best bang for the buck upgrade?

I've started a mod fund (which is growing slowly due to saving for a house as well) and I just hit $300 and started looking at intakes. My mod path plan was I/H/E/Flex tune.

After looking around at other combos of parts I could get for $300 (brake pads, fluid, brake lines), Pulley/Master Brake brace/Spacers, I realized that FA20 has a stage 1 flash which is about the same price.

For those that have it, was is worth it? I'm thinking of getting a flash, then building up money to buy I/H/E/Flex tune all at once. Is a STG 1 reflash a good hold over, or should I skip it and keep saving?

Edit: I've read through some of the review threads, but none of them are on a stock car, so I'd like to hear those reviews if possible.

A tune is definitely a great bang for the buck, but that 300$ is only for the tune file. You still have to purchase the license (which is another 300$) and optionally purchase a cable (to load the tunes whenever you please)... which is another 300.

Whether you go with FA20club or Visconti for your tune, it is definitely worth it.

Just for clarity, FA20Club's $300.00 deal is a mail in service where you send in your ECU, they flash it and mail it back to you. No Ecutek cable and no Ecutek license is included at that price, which means you will not be able to flash back to stock and will not be able to tweak the tune remotely with the help of FA20Club. You would have to send it in every time you need a reflash. Not trying to talk you out of it... Just want to make sure you are aware of the differences.

^ I was aware of this. It explains the very low price in comparison to the license/cable options.

Bang for the buck horsepower wise would be (in my opinion)
turbo or supercharger > flexfuel tune > header & exhaust with sport cat or no cat > intake > pully/flywheel/lighter wheels

Cool. How much is a replacement ECU anyway? Less than $600? Just curious as to what I would be in for if one was damaged/lost during shipment/had this guy delivering it.

Even then you still have to have a license, so that has to be added in.

I was going to say, how do they avoid obtaining a license?

Hmm, i dont think that is how it works. Tune only is for mail in service. They use their protuner license to tune your ECU. The tune and license combo assumes you have a cable. Ft86speedfactory is a reseller and has more detailed descriptions.

A license is required for every ECU that will be flashed. That is the way ECUTek works.

I stand corrected. Fa20club confirmed that a license is required regardless...
