@Razzle the SW update unfortunately does not give the affect you claim. I ran a dyno run just after installing the software which indicated no mid increase and a drop in max power at top end.
Further to this we have tested 4 DIF's and all seem to show a drop in mid but bigger gains at top end, of between 3 to 8 whp.
There is nothing wrong with the Works filter, expensive and does not give 10kw as figures indicate, but still delivers on par with other top performance DIF.

Anyway digressing off the topic, all I wanted to point out is the best whp gain bang for your rands is a DIF. The car is what it is, if its straight line dice you want, the 86 is not for you, but also remember, the road must turn and that's when a real car comes to PLAY.... "GO PLAY"

Should have just gone for the K&N.
I felt no difference.
I took the filter out and took my car in for the software upgrade... Felt a difference immediately as I was driving away from the dealership. The lag in the middle has drastically reduced and it revs much cleaner.
I put the filter back and still feels the same.

I haven't put the Unichip in yet. A friend of mine put one in his Fortuner and dragged with another friend's Aurus. The fortuner pulled the Aurus from the line and kept on opening the gap. I drove the fortuner with and without the chip. It made a huuuuge difference in power. It also made the car lighter on fuel (if you were to drive it normally).

I havent been on this forum for a while now, but i gotta tell you, watching this adam-bashing is quite entertaining

@Adam86 i understand where youre coming from. Im actually the same age as you But i agree 100% on what everyone is saying... We think we are good drivers but the fact is we've only been on the road for a couple of years and we dont have the necessary experience and skill aquired over time to be classified as a "good driver". We're still young and cocky drivers And on the polo GTi topic... Again i agree with them in that if youre the type of buyer who compares those hot hatches with the 86 youre completely missing the point of the car.
Also ive noticed that GTi is kind of blasphemous on this forum hahaha...

But on the other hand im glad to see another teenager on a forum and driving an 86 rather than with their heads buried in their blackberries, checking their recent updates while driving their hyundai i30 i just hope you bought the 86 for the right reasons...

Thanx Ryan
Can you post your before and after software upgrade, dyno sheets.
I would love to see it.
It's very strange in what you say about the midrange, because I'm not the only one that felt that the dip in the midrange is significantly reduced.
