I like it. Not crazy about that single exhaust, but the rest looks good. Really like the wheels and LOVE those seats.

Side airbags in factory seats, which is why you have to buy a SRS canceller or resistor to remove the SRS airbag light when swapping to aftermarket bucket seats.

The airbag you are thinking of is the curtain airbag, which runs from the A-pillar to the C-pillar.

This is the first time I want different seats, if those things are as comfy as they look sexy I'll delay retiring for another year to afford them.

Certainly I appreciate time taken by the op to show us something new.

Sorry, but I have to just yawn.

I was totally disappointed to not see a completely new body for the 86 for the 2018 model year. They seem to be simply into more marketing of an old horse.

After all this disappointment, I can now deduce that this car platform will soon be gone...no replacement planned.

There's a reason why the Gazoo Racing name (and the car as shown here) is not shown outside of Japan.

Consumers such as your self is the primary reason why cars like the FR-S RS 1.0/2.0 exists in the first place.

The buying habit of the target audience in North America is completely different than the US. Toyota USA won't just bring this car over without doing their research.

The rear end fits in well with other current Japanese cars. It won't go over so well with the US crowd, so you're almost certain to see some type of redesign after focus group studies.

Mostly posting this since there's so much polarizing opinion out of the original GR discussion thread...

Hmmmm 215-235 stagger? Seems like lots of potential to understeer.

Damn, I want those seats with the side impact airbags. I know we can get the Recaro Sportster CS here but I want the airbags too. I'm hoping Toyota or Subaru release a version of the twins with those seats to the US market so I can finally get it.

They just did a refresh in 2017 so the odds of them doing anything major for 18 were remote at best. They will probably run with the refresh for at least two more years before there are significant changes. This is perfectly normal in the automotive world and certainly not an indication they are doing away with the model soon.

I like it! When I was at Mega Web, they had the pre-refresh GRMN 86 there, but not the newest.

Why does everybody seem to think the GR represents the next production car? Doesn't matter what it has or doesn't have it is a limited car for Japan only. We may see some bits and pieces here eventually but that does not make it the new model.
