Toms USDM sides not lighting up!?

Just installed toms USDM version and the sides wont light up for some reason... I do have winjets headlights also.. I did watch the video of the ft86speed and he mentions that the sides light up when you turn the headlights on but im sure they have a facorty scion headlights. .. could that be the reason mine is not ligthing up? The winjet headlights could be darwing power or something?

I did replace the flasher relay that came with the tom's lights.. signals/hazards/breaks/main rear lights work fine just the side markers of it dont light up..

Part number is 81500-TZN60 on box but the instructions 81500-TZN60-01

Could it be they sent me the wrong ones? if so ill be pissed off.. going to re check the wiring tomorrow..

Thanks guys

My guess is you have the wrong tail lights. You might have the usdm jdm version, which means straight plug and play (no re pinning the wires). What you want is the USDM DOT approve versions.

Post the link of the one that you purchased, you might've gotten the JDM ones.

was "toms" or "depo" black or red on the box?

black = USDM
red = JDM

There is a JDM version that had its pins rewired for USDM so that they are straight plug-and-play into USDM cars but the side reflectors don't light because they are still JDM housings. 2 things to can check if you have the rewired JDM version: 1) The turn signals light up amber. If they light up red, that's USDM. 2) They don't have any DOT/SAE markings on the plastic part of the housing that meets the weather sealing of your trunk lid. Only USDM housings have DOT/SAE markings.

If you conclude it is USDM, you might have some troubleshooting to do. The part is either defective or your Winjets are affecting it somehow. To eliminate the latter variable, might need to wire up your stock headlights (maybe your Winjets can stay bolted in as you swap connectors just to test). Or maybe a fuse in your car was blown?

if its USDM with the side light its straight up stamped DOT

if it isnt stamped its as simple as that. You have a JDM with USDM plug and play.

IF it is stamped DOT your lights took a shit or something is wrong.

If it isn't stamped, forget the DOT version, you won't ever get hassled for it and just run them without that side light.

it's not USDM. it's just pre-wired for USDM

Do the TOMS tail lights suffer from condensation like the OEM?

Mine don't. That's precisely why I swapped them in.
