Yea.. 22/70 payments out of your car only to trade it in and get another.

You'll have a shitton more payments to make and, if I remember correctly-vaguely-you might end up getting negative numbers on your credit score(?).

OP: Nice spam job... you were right when you said this forum is full of news. Examples like this wonderfully illustrate that.

Unless you're upside down on your car loan, I would recommend selling the car privately ASAP and getting a cheap beater for the interim. I'm sure a lot of people like you are going to trade in their TC's once the FR-S comes out, so the value of the TC's are going to drop. Get an old Toyota Corolla when your TC sells, drive it for a few months, give it a good clean, polish and wax, and sell it for the same price you bought it for.

If you can't sell the car for at least as much as you owe on it, don't be an idiot and hang onto the car untill you have some positive equity in it. They will make the FR-S for at least 4 years, and I'm sure they'll keep making the car a bit better every year (like they do with most cars), so there is no need on taking a hit on a perfectly good, reliable car. Just wait a year or two and get it then.

I agree with what MR2turbo4evr says.
FYI, I have '11 tC also.
When the car was a year old and had 8k miles on it, the dealer quoted me $16,500 for the trade-in value. I bought the car for $20,500. $19,000 + $1,500 options (tint, alarm, & spoiler).

Trade in will always be a low value, the dealer is trying to make a profit not break even. I do trade-in because it reduces my taxable amount. Say if I get $20k trade in for my GTI, then I only pay tax on $5k (assuming car is $25k).

You will get murdered if you are that early in your term. Sell it private party ASAP if you are seriously going to be buying a new car this soon.

you'll be upside down like crazy on that loan.

RSX guy, you'll be lucky to get a $5k offer depending on the average miles for an 02

In my experience, never do trade-in, dealers will mark it at bottom low as they have to make some $$$$....2 things I highly recommend, sell it privately and buy 'em on dealer internet sale department.
