There's always ways to finance what you want, but I really strongly advise against it. What if you pop the motor? I spent 5k on the turbo and even more than that in supporting modifications. Finish up school, get a good job, get a 401k, some property, a rainy day fund, THEN start looking at toys.
Also, keep in mind, the turbo is definitely not legal in Orange County. I'm in California and run one, but there's an additional cost you'll need to keep in mind (thousand or two, unless you are good with a wrench) if you ever want to sell the car or need to smog it. |

Please do yourself a favor and don't finance car parts. They're not anywhere near worth going into debt for. Especially for FI, considering that it's a pay-to-play game and you're liable to run out of credit with a half-baked car.
Just wait until you can afford it. It sucks, but the time will come and when it does you'll appreciate it more. And you won't be paying interest on things you don't need. |

I hope you parents have lots of $ so you won't have to quit school before you're done due to misspending funds needed for tuition and books.

If you need to finance a turbo you shouldn't be buying a turbo.

It's tempting to finance but just be patient and save up! I would say 90% of people on the forum are either waiting/saving up for car parts lol. It's part of the fun, makes you appreciate the mods on you car much more. If you finance, it'll be annoying reminder that at the end of each month you have to pay. Pay all at once and be done with paying instantly! Happy tuning.

Lots of great financial advice by everyone. Listen to them. Financing car parts is bad debt. Invest in yourself first. My car is still stock and I bought it in June 2012. Making car and student loan payments are priority. Once it's all paid for the fun starts. As others have stated you will appreciate every part you add to your ride.

I will tell you from personal first hand experience, DON"T FINANCE CAR PARTS! I did it when I was 19, lost my job, couldn't afford the payments, and it haunted me until 17 years later when I finally settled with them in court. I was very lucky to have a very close friend/mentor who is partner in a very powerful law firm and was able to strong arm them from $10,000 to $2000. Seriously, don't take a chance of messing up your credit. It is everything in life anymore, including prospective jobs. Its not worth it.
If you want something bad enough, save every penny, every tax return, all birthday and christmas money. Any money you get, think of the goal. I'm 36 and would LOVE you have some FI, but I can't afford it. I'll do exactly what I just told you and in 3-4 years, I may have it. But I plan on keeping my FR-s for the long haul. I feel it will be a cult classic one day. |

Don't forget that you will also need extra money for tuning and supporting mods.

Okay, so all financial advice aside - OP asked a question so I will answer it.
Financing for car parts is rather limited. You've got 2 options - 1. Bill me later - I believe you can get 12 months with 0% financing. It may be 6 months. However, whatever you don't pay off in those 6 months will be automatically financed with ~18%. High interest rate. Works well if you know you can set apart, lets say, $500 every month to pay it off. Then you basically don't finance it 2. Open a CC with 12 months 0% financing. same deal as above HOWEVER - you've gotta have the right mindset with 0% financing. It is not intended as a way for you to push off paying things off - it is intended to avoid paying finance what so ever. So if you can get 12 month financing at 0%, and can put down $300-$500 a month on it, then you'll get your turbo 12 months early, without having to save that $300-$500 a month. this is not for the feeble minded. I highly suggest that you only do this if you have reserve funds for emergencies. It's not the end of the world if you've got to skip that payment one month, as you'll just pay normal financing on it, but you'll likely end up having to skip many payments due to the nature of FI. if it were me - I'd save up. just put that money away. And then once you've got enough, save up another $1000-$2000. |
