Say what! Wow, shocking that HKS pulled this. Coming from the Evo community, I remember the problems with their GT turbos so I'm not totally surprised. That's why I'm going with Amuse for exhaust.

I was working with the rear bumper off last night and did not notice any cracking in the tips, will have the car up on a lift next week and I'll examine the rest of the piping.
@driver01 any more news on your warranty resolution? I wonder if your problems are stemming from the more severe temperature changes (ie, you being in Toronto) stressing the metal?

So I had the car up today and there's cracking in the same areas as the OP. I will post photos when I get home.

Cracks in the same places as OP - I also have the older carbon tipped version of the exhaust.

@driver01 did you ever get compensated for the repair?

Damn, this really sucks! HKS used to make some really good shit but I guess they must have outsourced substituting for mediocre quality.

I was somewhat against HKS ever since they left the US but recently bought a used set of Hipermax IIIs since Odi @ Feal can rebuild them.

Best of luck trying to have HKS honor it and replace it.

So much going for this. Now I'm questioning on quality from the brand itself.

Man, that sucks. Does anyone know that there's another exhaust system (catback) for the brz that has 50% of the OEM exhaust weight?

I have the HKS Hi power exhaust too. I'm going to look at mine when I get some free time. I hope I don't have any cracks.
