I assume that the battery is good and not been left for a while before flashing?

On the basis that the OFT has no way of recovering the ECU, I'd suggest that the ECU might now be locked and a new ECU might be needed. However if it is a battery issue you might be lucky and be able to charge the battery and then try again.

Know anyone with a Tactrix locally?

I would consider contacting the developers.

If Ecu images are intact it might be something simple they can diagnose and resolve

If I have an automatic, will the tablet recognize that or is there a file I have to download that is specific to automatics?

Back on the old Vishnu Procede piggyback tuner there was an 'auto tune' feature that would gradually increase the aggressiveness of the tune until incipient knocking appeared, and then backed off slightly. Maybe Tunebot is a new version of that?

It will automatically know - the calibration ID is linked to transmission

The definitions MUST be from the OFT XML's and NOT from RomRaider site. Using incorrect definitions you are risking bricking your tablet and/or ECU.

Hello. Just want to say thanks to steve99, shiv, and everyone else who has provided info for the oft on the 86 platform. I have just purchased an oft and was able to flash my ecu successfully thanks to this thread.

Everything seems to be working properly except for the realtime display (RTD). When I launch the RTD, I get multiple error messages. Sometimes I get (Please update the template file). Once I clear that message I can use the RTD but the buttons to the left of the info are white. I have tried downloading and updating the template file from HERE with no success. I have even tried reinstalling OFM and letting the tablet update automatically but still encounter the same issue. I am at a loss on what to do. Anyone know how to resolve this?

That is a very old template you are trying to download.
The latest template is 8.2, here's a link of mine if you want one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtm71cf1uj...208.2.SLT?dl=0

Simply download it and save it, then open OFM and click Upgrade, select this template, click Start. Once it completes, restart the OFM and it will autoupdate if there are any newer revisions.

Hope it helps.

Question IAM not displaying/logging - stays at 0

Hey guys. Firstly, thanks Steve and everyone else for all the helpful info. It has been invaluable

I recently received my OFT and have since flashed to the Stage2 EL E85 tune.

I think everything looks ok (noob analysis based on other people's logs), but I have been unable to get the Advance Multiplier to register on my OFT - which from what I've read is one of the main things to check when looking at logs for knock.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried contacting the Open Flash guys through their website contact form, but haven't heard back from them.

ZA1JF20P is my Cal Id

Here's a log with some minor KC and IAM at 0 (E85 - after 50km easy run-in): http://www.datazap.me/u/valkenrebel/...log=0&data=1-4

Thanks in advance for any advice people have.

IAM, MAF voltage and a few other things don't log on newer ROM's, like mine and yours.
I've been trying to get it fixed for a while with Shiv but no luck yet.

Ok, thanks for the reply Boomerang. I thought it may be something like that. I assume they're working on a fix - fingers crossed it's soonish.
