You will always need the same upwards force for a car of constant weight. So to change the area of the contact patch you have to change the F/area ratio (pressure). Granted, there's a lot more going on with differences in internal construction between tires of different sizes, even if it's the same "model" of tire. But while the simple physics breaks down when considering the construction we can still use it as a guide to narrow in on what a good pressure should be, then adjust accordingly based on each individual tire. |

Same here, had them on my RX8 - no Bueno. They actually led me to discovering the Ohstu FP7000 tires (Falken is the parent company, Sumitomo rubber markings on the sidewall) which I have since run on the RX8, RSX, Mazdaspeed3 and currently on my wife's 550i (just put 4 news ones on today actually) and the BRZ. They are good performers for A/S tires, I liked them more than the Hankook V12s they replaced on my 'speed. Make no mistake, if you want performance, get a performance summer tire...but if you only run A/S tires, the FP7000s are tough to beat especially when you factor in cost. |

Guys the tire pressure you're supposed to set it at is WRITTEN ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRE! It literally couldn't be ANY EASIER to know what pressure to set!

No. The max pressure is written on the side of the tire. The recommended pressure is written on the door frame of the car. That recommendation is for any tires that are installed but it is only a recommendation. You can and should vary the pressure based on what you are doing to the tires.
