I have researched exhaust for this car and I like the TRD system. I found this to be helpful [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7MJgw7AyAU"]TRD Exhaust and Intake Review - Scion FR-S - YouTube[/ame]

I purchased this and should have it installed next month. Mine is a 100% street car. I thought this system looks better than the stock and sounds better too. I am not expecting a hp/tq gain. I do expect a sound and visual enhancement upgrade.

I disagree....the gain is a beautiful sound IMHO. I not only get mentions on the car but the exhaust also. I'm wondering if my homemade quad tip makes it sound any different?

You could spend half as much for a beautiful sound. Unless TRD released a supercharger (to keep warranty in tact, with FI) it's all overpriced shitty shit that has no real benefit over what the aftermarket offers

I found the following video to be quite interesting for a few reason. One it answers the question of does it make more power. Chuck Wade (The Director of Toyota Motorsports Garage) answers the question of does the TRD intake and exhaust making more power at 1min 30 seconds to 1 min 44 (though not exclusively to the exhaust)
Another cool part is we get to hear what the car sounds like on the race track. We get to hear acceleration and downshifting. And, Ken Gushi drives this. Well I hope this is enjoyable. For me the intake is a bit pricey (at least for now) however, I will be adding the TRD air filter at my 30k scheduled maintenance.

I paid $300, it wasn't for HP gains. It's very well made with great welds and quality stainless. I think I made out well buying used rather than new

As far as this being overpriced compared to other aftermarket systems with no real benefit makes me wonder (perhaps others) how accurately people could match an intake and exhaust for horsepower, quality and durability from the aftermarket in most applications (example blank exhaust with blank air filter). Some others are more costly. There are some aftermarket kits that might catch a lot of attention from the police or your neighbors. I love the mortgage officer employees aftermarket exhaust waking me up and other neighbors with his FR-S (So not street performance oriented, assuming common decency). No real performance gains apposed to other aftermarket systems ,I am not so sure for street or track driving. When we compare street cars, versus street track cars, versus all track cars we might all differ on has no real benefit over what the aftermarket offers. I would argue that certain street cars, with this system have benefits over other aftermarket systems certainly with respect to noise and legality.

Could you please reword this into a run-on paragraph that is able to be read?

I bought the TRD Exhaust and sold it within 2 months or so... it was too loud and honestly it droned on the freeway. It was annoying.
