I actually never thought of that. Would the higher FD cause some problems with drivetrain, FI or not? Now I need to know! I don't imagine it would, but I am no engineer(yet).

Realistically, even with FI, how many people are getting up to top speed in these cars? And if you're doing that on public roads, .

I'd really like to see a forced induction setup running this final drive kit. Acceleration must be

The fact that it's an OEM part makes it all the sweeter in my opinion.

longer gear ratios are harder on the drive train parts so a shorter fd would actually be better for the drive train, although if your swapping a final drive you probably dont drive in a way thats nice to the drive train anyways

op: let us know how your install went. if this does everything the cusco kit does i may have to get one of these myself

My stock toyota gt86 arrive very easy at 200kmh but as soon as i hit the rev limit in 5th gear and I have to up shift to 6th, well the rpm drop so much that it takes ages to accelerate to even 220kmh. Is it normal?
I'm worried there is something not working properly.

It's not the top speed you're after with FI, although it's fun lol. A taller final drive works with FI because you have more power and torque to pull that gear, shifting takes time. A high strung na car needs short gears to stay on boil and in it's rev range, but with double or triple the power you don't need that as much. In my case I want to drop to a 3.73 gear so I don't have to shift to 5th on the drag strip.

No. Speedo reads from hub mounted ABS sensors.

So I called my local canadian Toyota dealer and asked him to price the part number shown on the box in the first post, and nothing comes up, he tells me it's not a valid number. So I wondered if it was at least valid in the US. I sent a picture to a friend in Florida and they took it to the dealer and had the same issue number doesn't exist.

Anyone have any insight into this?
