Definitely like it better than the +45 offset wheels though. |

I knew I wasn't going with wider tires (wider than 245's) before getting the set of +35's. I've seen the minimal poke of the same wheel setup that I have last summer and I thought it's acceptable. If I were to go with wider tires, I'd have gone with the +45 and added a 3mm spacer to avoid tie rod rub. I was torn between the RPF1's and the MachV Awesomes in 17x9 +42. I decided to go with the RPF1 17x9 +35's for a few reasons. I wanted to see what having a lighter wheel/tire setup would feel like. Was pretty dead set on MPSS' and they don't come in 255/40's... I didn't want to have to deal with spacers (so I didn't get the +45) to avoid tie rod rub on full lock. No extra holes on the wheel from a different bolt pattern. ......... If the Mach V awesomes didn't have the extra holes for the 5x114....it'd have made things a lil more tougher to pick between the two. I may have gone with it cause it'll keep the tires from poking out better...plus the ability to fit a BBK. If I get bored of the RPF1's, I may get a set of awesomes along with some DWS06's or P Zero AS. Last edited by SHWNBRZ; 01-19-2017 at 07:38 PM. Reason: Car pic |

For +45 17x8 is pretty much identical to stock wheels. Stock is 17x7+48? At +35 it should make you sit more "flush" as it pokes your wheels out more fitting the space better imo. 17x9+35 is the way to go though. There should not be any additional wear of any kind on stock height.

For those wondering what having the 17x9 +35 with 245/40's on -2.0 camber up front....0 toe. Steering wheel was straight for the shot. I'm dropped about 1.2" from Tein Flex Z's. Everything else is stock. No additional camber bolts and what not.
Note the angles of the shot. The fender doesn't go straight down...it's angled...you can see how the tire tucks in relative to the angle of the fender's flat part. |

FOUND: Touch up paint for gold RPF1s
Enkei refuses to sell customers touch-up paint in its "secret recipe" colors. This is a lost revenue opportunity and pisses off their customers.
So I searched around and found this touch-up pen in a 99% match for Enkei Gold, see pics below. It's an old Subaru OEM color. Pen costs about $20 shipped. It's crazy how much enkei's paint color appears to shift based on lighting conditions. Every paint vendor has their own blends, some match better than others. This particular one is really close. YMMV! link: http://www.2-tip.com/products/2tip-1308-35681 UPDATE: Second source, 99.9% match !! http://www.ebay.com/itm/172311854193 Last edited by canyons; 02-18-2017 at 12:09 PM. Reason: tags |
