yup, and so are the rpf1 17x8 with tires. both are 38 lbs. there is no weight loss by going to the rpf1, just gain width which is nice but not worth the money to change from a brand new set of wheels and tires for me at the moment.

A good place to start with weight reduction is taking out the useless rear seats. The seating material with all the steel seat belt hardware was decent.

but here is the rpf1 weights http://enkei.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/RPF1.pdf tires are generall around 23-26 lbs. I use MPSS for general reference. I don't know if they are heavier than other performance tires. But as you will see wheel and tire on a rpf1 17x8 is 38 lbs. I'm assuming larger the wheel/tire, more weight. 215/45ZR17 (91Y) XL 300 AA A 1,356 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 21 lbs. 7-8" 7" 8.4" 7.7" 24.7" 844 US 225/45ZR17 (94Y) XL 300 AA A 1,477 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 22 lbs. 7-8.5" 7.5" 8.9" 8.2" 25" 833 US 235/45ZR17 (97Y) XL 300 AA A 1,609 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 22 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.3" 8.2" 25.4" 821 US 245/40ZR17 (95Y) XL 300 AA A 1,521 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 23 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.8" 8.5" 24.7" 841 US 245/45ZR17 (99Y) XL 300 AA A 1,709 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 23 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.6" 8" 25.7" 810 US 215/40ZR18 (89Y) XL 300 AA A 1,279 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 20 lbs. 7-8.5" 7.5" 8.6" 7.7" 24.8" 840 US 225/35ZR18 (87Y) XL 300 AA A 1,201 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 20 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.1" 8.2" 24.2" 859 FR 225/40ZR18 (92Y) XL 300 AA A 1,389 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 22 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.1" 7.9" 25.1" 829 US 225/40ZR18 88Y SL Star BMW 300 AA A 1,235 lbs. 51 psi 10/32" 21 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.1" 7.9" 25.1" FR 225/45ZR18 (95Y) XL Star BMW 300 AA A 1,521 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 22 lbs. 7-8.5" 7.5" 8.9" 7.6" 25.9" 802 FR 225/50ZR18 (99Y) XL 300 AA A 1,709 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 24 lbs. 6-8" 7" 9.2" 8.2" 26.9" 774 US 235/40ZR18 (95Y) XL 300 AA A 1,521 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 23 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.5" 8.5" 25.4" 819 US 235/45ZR18 (94Y) SL 300 AA A 1,477 lbs. 51 psi 9/32" 23 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.3" 8.6" 26.3" 790 FR 235/50ZR18 (101Y) XL 300 AA A 1,819 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 26 lbs. 6.5-8.5" 7.5" 9.7" 8.7" 27.3" 762 US 245/35ZR18 92Y XL Star BMW 300 AA A 1,389 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 22 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.8" 9.2" 24.8" FR 245/35ZR18 (92Y) XL 300 AA A 1,389 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 23 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.8" 9" 24.8" 840 US 245/40ZR18 97Y XL MO Mercedes 300 AA A 1,609 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 24 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.8" 8.6" 25.7" 809 FR 245/40ZR18 (97Y) XL 300 AA A 1,609 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 24 lbs. 8-9.5" 8.5" 9.8" 9" 25.7" 809 US,FR 245/45ZR18 (100Y) XL 300 AA A 1,764 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 24 lbs. 7.5-9" 8" 9.6" 8.5" 26.7" 780 FR 255/35ZR18 (94Y) XL 300 AA A 1,477 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 25 lbs. 8.5-10" 9" 10.2" 9.5" 25" 832 US 255/35ZR18 (94Y) XL TPC Spec 300 AA A 1,477 lbs. 50 psi /32" 24 lbs. 0-0" 9" US 255/40ZR18 (95Y) SL Star BMW 300 AA A 1,521 lbs. 51 psi 10/32" 24 lbs. 9-10" 9" 10.2" 8.5" 26" 799 FR 255/40ZR18 (99Y) XL 300 AA A 1,709 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 25 lbs. 8.5-10" 9" 10.2" 9.5" 26" 799 US 255/40ZR18 (99Y) XL Star BMW 300 AA A 1,709 lbs. 50 psi 10/32" 25 lbs. 8.5-10" 9" 10.2" 9.2" 26" 799 US 265/35ZR18 (97Y) XL |

I heard the same thing too. I kept the spare for about a year before taking it out. It just feels like you are driving with less fuel in your tank. I store my emergency bag (jumper cables, medical kit, flashlights, etc.) down there, so there is still a little weight in that location. |

Problem with RS 2.0 climate control
Not sure if this is the best place to post this question but figured RS2 owners would see it.
I've had my RS2 for about six months and look forward to driving it every chance I get. Can't say I've felt that way about a car since my 67 Stingray twin top. One relatively minor issue I've noticed is that the temperature setting seems to be wildly inaccurate. In the summer I would have to set it around 62 or less for reasonably cool air and recently when some warming is required I have to keep it in the same area to not get roasted. I admit this is merely my mental comparison to settings in our 2014 Prius or 07 Rav4, both of which have digital climate control. It seems like my required setting in the FRS is around six or seven degrees lower for about the same temp. My next step is to keep a digital thermometer in the car to get some hard numbers but just thought I'd ask if any other RS2 owners are experiencing the same issue. My thought is perhaps a faulty temp sensor somewhere. |

Mine is the same way. I crank it up on a cold morning by once it's warmed up anything for me about 66 is just to damn hot especially if I have it on the vents pointing at me. I usually keep it on the windshield and floor. |
