Eh, it's trué. The more likely one is to have financial issues, the more likely they would opt for the cheaper version. Those without such difficulties AND those with a brand preference (real or imagined) will be spread between the two. There will still be a bias present, even if it's only a few points on indexing scores.

I'm want the BRZ because I like the looks inside and out just a bit better than what the FR-S has. Plus I think the Subbie is going to be a little more exclusive because of the price. That and it has push button start.
Did Scion ditch push button start to keep the price down or what? |

When it comes time to buy, I'm going to
1] spec out the FR-S with the accessories I want, 2] compare total cost with an identically equipped BRZ (which I expect would cost more), 3] haggle BRZ down to FR-S cost, 4] pick which ever comes out cheaper, ignoring brand. If the BRZ is a few hundred more, I'll take it for its HVAC switch cluster and headlights because it will save me trouble swapping those into an FR-S. And I'll pay an extra hundred for push button start. I hope the FR-S has all those as accessories (like a DOT-approved version of JDM 86 HIDs). The suspension differences don't matter because I won't drive anywhere near 10/10ths and cosmetic differences don't matter because I really like how both look.

I won't look at badge anymore, I'll just pic the lowest spec and the cheapest, as half of the car price is going into mods.

BRZ for me because..
- Subaru is going to be using it for the GT300 - I would assume that there would be less teenagers driving them - Not a fan of the Scion brand - Subaru engine for a Subaru car - Plus I love my Subarus. I'm going to the dealer next week for a deposit |

Honestly it is still an open question for me..
I would say 85% BRZ ... 15% FRS - and the only way the scales tip the other way, would be if Scion offers all the goodies on the GT86 here in the states. I do not think I am alone on this one. |
