Any updates?

Hmm..Any chance we will see an application for these Shoroi Lithium Batteries.

540CCA, capacity of OE siezed battery, and almost half the weight of the Odyssey PC545.
Shorai installed in an STi:

That is an interesting one. let me get one in, and talk to MAW.

I do know they dropped off a new setup with the changes we wanted. now to find the time to fit it.

I'd like to also mention the Braille GU1R as it is actually labeled for automotive use.

and that is where you need to start looking at the price balance. while you may be ok with $550+ for a battery not a lot of people will. given that I have to buy trays in large batches that will be cash tied up in inventory that just won't sell like the pc545 setup.

The price of this battery seems more reasonable.
Did you guys end up getting this model? Any updates?

I've been running this battery for a week with no issues. It'll fit into just about any small battery box. It comes with a ton of shims you can use.

Did you have to get some different posts for the battery and what did you do for a tie down?

Posted what I did here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32544

Won't pass tech inspection but it's plenty secure. I'm debating whether to move the battery.

Very cool! The battery looks secure to me not sure why it wouldn't pass inspection or maybe get a custom tray done at a local metal shop like the griffon one. Would you happen to know tge capacity of the stock battery compared to the Shorai?

not yet. still working out some details on the design. That's what kills us on time on these things. Getting something 90% is usually quick. it's that last 10% that takes FOREVER.

IMO, the Shorai is a great way to go because it's 540CCA and weighs slightly above 5lbs when on the other hand our stock Panasonics are 320CCA or 390CCA according to another thread on the cite and weigh almost 30lbs. The Braille posted earlier above is awesome but costs $577 and the Shorai is in the $300-315 neighborhood and still weighs about 1lb less than the Braille. Just an idea but maybe you guys can offer different battery mount kits for customer preference?
