DIY - Lightweight crank pulley install (Perrin)
I'm sure there is a manual write up of this, but I just installed the Perrin lightweight crank pulley and made a DIY video. Link to the pulley I bought can be found in the video description. Hope this is helpful!

The funny thing is that I had my pulley for over 4 years and never got around to install it. But, after watching your vid gave me the confidence to do it. Wish I had done this a long time ago. It really made a difference on the feel of the drive-train. Thanks man!

Not a huge difference. My car already had engine bolt-ons and tune before I did the pulley, so not quite as noticeable for me. Or maybe i was just used to its feel from having it on my FRS.

The lightweight pulley is definitely a complimentary upgrade then. Inexpensive and fairly simple installation process.

Very nice video. I like lightweight pulleys and I believe they are one of the best mods for these cars. They are also funny as they always cause long debates in forums. A few additional notes. You'll feel a difference only if you accelerate your car hard. Otherwise, they are not doing anything apart from removing some inertia from the engine.

Did you do the install while the engine is warmed up or cold? I've read conflicting posts on which would make it easier to take the crank pulley bolt off. Gonna replace the belt, I figured this is a good chance to go with an aftermarket pulley.

Pretty sure I did it cold on both my cars.

Don't bolts slightly expand when hot making them harder to remove? I've done it once when cold and then again when hot. Hot was markedly more difficult. Had to put the jack bar on my breaker bar and even that almost didn't work.
