First he asked if I bought the car new, and then where I bought it, so I said "I bought it here and it's the same glass the car had when I picked it up". So he then asked the tech advisor if BRZs' windshields say Subaru, but the advisor didn't know. So I think he was going to look into it.
The manager must be a hillbilly when it comes to cars Made in Japan. Most Japanese automotive glass if not all are made by Asahi Glass for like forever so it would have their name etched on the corner.

EDIT: I just went and checked mine and it reads "AGC Automotive", in the old days it just reads "Asahi" like on our old Integra, the Civic we had from the same era was made locally here and they used PPG instead.

Yeah he clearly had no idea what the manufacturer was...

Don't be disappointed if they deny the repair. It is clearly from a rock and that is not warranty covered. If they do fix it then that is wonderful but they are under no obligation to do so.

Good point. But, our EpiPen was kept in a dark, dry cabinet and we keep out house at 70 degrees F.

Those should be good conditions for a chemical that doesn't require refrigeration.

Subaru will need to send a district rep to check the car out in person if the car owner insists on claiming the 7 year rust warranty.

My friend managed to get VW to fix his then decade old Jetta due to rusts on one of the fenders. The district rep showed up, okay the repair, and even got the dealer to replace the rusting trunk lid under their 12 year rust warranty. I'm sure it was all goodwill since there was no perforation on the rust area.

It is a 5 year perforation warranty.
He would be covered under the 36 month if not for the "damaged" exception.
Yes, many will good will these types of repairs but they do not need to as per the wording of the warranty.
Just be glad we don't own pre 2006 Mazdas!

So I have been investigating my options for my cart at the lake. All are expensive. All the engine swap options eliminate reverse unless I find a F/R rear end, which are hard to come by and run about $500, and are not a simple bolt-on exchange. Dadhawk is right, not having a reverse would be a big bummer, so my best option is to rebuild.

Buggies Unlimited will take my motor and make it new, bench tested and all for $899 and about $80 shipping back and forth. I hate spending this much on a 40 year old cart I bought for $500, but a good used cart would be 3-4K or more. Oh well.

You want to see some wacky golf cart engine swaps go to the buggiesgonewild forum.

It is nice when we go to the lake with the boat. We can get around town, go to the general store, Laundromat, garbage dump, etc. without having to unhitch the boat from the truck.

Plus it is just fun.

Much better. I either have shitty memory or I don't think the steering wheel ever felt like this one. But it definitely has more of a grippy/rough texture, whereas the old one had basically gotten shiny, smooth to the touch (almost glossy-feeling), and worn like it was 3-5 years old, not 1 year old.

My guess is the one that came with the car was defective and whatever material they used for it just wore through quickly. My car was one of the first 2017's and they changed the steering wheel with that MY. So I'm just going to assume that's the case.
