Flasher Relay Help
Hey guys, I'm looking for some help regarding the flasher relay under the steering column.
No matter what I try, I can't seem to un-attach it. Am I hitting the wrong spot with my flat-head? Do I hit the hole in the white part (clip), or the tiny little slot on the flasher itself? Also, from using search, it seems some people gave up and just pulled downwards on it to remove it via brute force. Is this just easier and I should say fuck it and do this? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. |

I had the same issue. I ended up sliding the bracket that holds the relay off of the column to gain better access. After that, it came right off since I could actually see what I was doing and was able to get 2 hands on it.

Do you still remember where the flathead goes to remove the thing? Is it in the little gap on the relay itself, or on the white clip? |

My advice is don't even bother trying to remove it. Just disconnect the connector and plug in the new one then tape it so it doesn't knock around.

When I did mine I just pried it off with a flathead, it's just a annoying plastic peice holding it in, or just tape it like he says.

I want to say the gap was on the relay. I used a very small screwdriver and pushed it in the gap and pried it up. It's weird how it was super easy for some, but a stubborn bitch for others.

Where's the clip on the connector, and how many clips are there? Just from blindly feeling I found one clip on the top, but holding that down and pulling yielded no results. |

Just the one push pin at the back like you described. It's a pain due to angle but keep trying.

You need a very thin and short handle screw drier. The angle just makes it a bear. The thiner the blade of your flat tip the easier it'll be to get into the slot and actually get it to release. A short and skinny handle will help give you more room to angle upward before contacting the structure of the steering column.

Also look at the new flasher relay and you can see where it slides into the plastic clip and so just mirror it
