Saying Goodbye
After having the chance to own both the FRS and the Brz, this car has been a blast to own. Both car was pretty much stock besides an invidia exhaust and small little diys. I have own the brz/frs platform for about a good 2 years combined and the driving experience was amazing!
Would I buy this car again in the future? Yes, i would because the driving experience is unlike no other in its price range. This car would be perfect for those live in places with a lot of curvy roads. Imagine this, 6pm on a warm sunny day, driving on a quiet isolated road with the beauty of nature surrounding you. You accelerate faster and faster on every curve not fearing for your life because you know that your car can handle anything you throw at it. This experience is pretty much pure bliss for me! I don't get as much excitement driving my cousin's Mustang 5.0 on the same winding road. Pros? *SHARP handling! *Great gas mileage (I get around 30mpg) *Design of the car (Just look at it! It turns heads where ever you go!) *Interior is well designed (This applies more towards the BRZ limited) *Steering wheel is very responsive (drift all day looooong) *Manual transmission is better than its competitors *The mod community (All i have to say is wow.... This car has so much support compared to other cars. I have a 2006 mazda mx5 and i cant even find one damn aftermarket part that looks good. I needed one headlight and its cost $700 at the dealers for ONE headlight with no aftermarket support!) *Seats 4 (well more like 2 adults and 2 gremlins but hey it works ) *Alot more features and aspects that i like about the car but you guys who own this car will already know about it. Cons!? *Fuel pump (Crickets everywhere! It chirps alot. Simple fix : Exhaust upgrade) *Horsepower( Handling makes up for it) *Frs interior(too plain esp those with the older models. 4 knobs and some radio buttons. Get the BRZ Limited if you care about the interior) *Torque dip ($500 fix) Overall this car is a great DD and you won't go wrong if you decided to purchase it! Just remember that there are cons and pros of every car, only you can make it perfect since everyone has their own preference! Why am i getting rid of it? I want something with a bit more luxurious and comfortable.I really do wish i could keep the car but its not in my budget, I'm paying about $200 a month for insurance plus not mentioning the fact that i had so much bad luck with this car. My first beloved FRS was hit right just a couple days after i installed new headlights and a tune. Im currently working in downtown cincinnati, my current brz gets damage way too much. I have at least 20 different key marks on my car and way too much damage from flying rocks and potholes around that area. Now its time to move on to something different. I looking towards the BMW 3 series such as the 335i or the 328xi for its AWD. I'm trying to stay under 13k since I'm getting a new MX-5 GT. Any suggestions would be great! |

Definitely understand your concerns with parking downtown. Best of luck to you man! I moved on to the 16 wrx and although I love it, I do miss the 86 at times...Really miss having a RWD coupe. Perhaps in the future I'll pick up a second gen when they come out, or maybe a used 370z and boost it ha ha.

Sorry to hear you go. I see that you currently own a miata as well as trying to get into a new one. What made you keep the miata instead of the brz?

Stick around the forums!
There's no such thing as too many Toyobaru fans here! I've found myself in the same situation, although more for financial reasons (just finished grad school, and am still looking for work). Hoping to get something sporty again, and the 2017 is high on the list if I can get decent used ones after a few years! Incidentally: 20 key marks? That's insane! |

Yup lots of key mark when you get close to the car, some comes off with heavy polishing. I couldn't afford to pay to park at a garage which cost about $300-600 a month depending on the location. Open parking still cost alot, around 5 dollars if you arrive before 9am or it can be 10 dollars a day. I spent around 200+ a month for parking 6 days a week. Now thats some BS. BRZ are very rare around here so people would think its some exotic. (emblem removed + Invidia N1). I do have several dents from car doors slamming into mines which pisses me off. BMW are more common around here so i highly doubt people will start keying it |

Did you get a quote from your insurance company for specified BMWs?
I can't see how insurance would be any less than the twins. Not to mention the likeliness of more expensive repairs. |

I got a quote for this 2007 bmw 328xi. Im really not sure why its much cheaper than the brz. The current 2006 mx5 only cost me $50 a month with full coverage (500 deductible).
