"I thought that was a new Supra"

"What's it like living off of instant noodles to afford that car?".......

Then insert just about every PoS truck/SUV/sedan/etc that must prove something to me while we drive in traffic, in the form of majestic stop light mashing of the throttle because sporty car.
it's just weird for me to change from the ranger, which almost no one even notices is badged incorrectly, to the brz, where everyone notices it just moving under it's own power.

ok, story time.

1. a few weeks after i bought my house, was driving back from work to pick up the truck for a hardware store run, and 5 kids playing in their front yard a few dozen houses away saw me turn the corner(no shenanigans, just 2nd gear @15mph), and RAN from their porch to the very edge of the road gutter so fast i slowed down, worried they were going to randomly run into the street, only to watch me go by. went past again in the truck minutes later, and i might as well have been driving a tree.

2. during a store run, managed to snag the first spot by the exit doors. upon coming out of the store, i'm greeted with the sight of two 50-ish year old women visually scouring every detail of the car. my first thought was they ran into it, but as i walked up and greeted them, they only asked what kind of car it was, how they'd never seen anything like it, and disbelief it was a subaru.

i will say mustangs and camaro's are my favorite to 'pass' in traffic. like choosing the faster of nearly-stopped lanes, not speeding past. many of them get all worked up and start jumping between lanes attempting to get ahead to prove 'something'...

Almost same scenario here, but add a few more kids. Was head to my girls house, see a bunch of kids in a playground near her place, think nothing of it, keep driving.. The leader of this small people entourage screams and points at my car, I turn into her street go and park and as I'm leaving my car all these kids start flocking to it.... Quite respectful kids surprisingly as they didn't touch it, but it's definitely a kid magnet.

On Washington State Ferries.
The twins measure out 0.5" under 14 feet.
They use vertical stops front and back and a laser underneath to calculate.

If you have a splitter or wang "NO DISCOUNT FOR YOU!"

It's the car's fault - every car I've ever had (except my MX5 with the top down) has had that problem -

I'm disappointed Humfrz, I was expecting a 'back in the day' story about honking.. This guy obviously had problems backing up with the roof up..

IDK that looks like a 20-30mph hit. Maybe looped it?

BTW I smashed my 74 Lincoln into my buddies plastic shed. I WON. However, I blame the backup camera on my BRZ. Spoiled my analog driving skills. He owed me money anyway, I guess now we're even. It was a legit accident though. He was distracting me telling me not to hit his new Jeep which was like 20ft behind me. I like my 6k lb car though even more. I might get a deuce and a half.
