OP, whatever you do, DO NOT drive it anywhere you can't "safely" have a wheel bearing literally grind itself apart.

Since that is impossible, get... it... towed...

I wasnt able to find any info on how soon I have to report to my insurance co but I will make my decision in 15 hours. I'm leaning towards paying it myself right now but the inspection should help me make a more informed decision.
Good luck

Sounds simple but for example I must report any damage within 24 hours. If I don't they may not cover it. That is right in my policy.
People really need to read those things and keep the documents around for reference when they need to know. After an incident is not the time to trying to figure out basic information. It never ceases to amaze me just how car guys can tell you every single spec about their car but have no clue about the conditions of the policy they pay good money for to protect it. Much of the discussion here would not be required if he simply knew how long he had to call in a report.

Thanks for the help. Do you know what are the best shops to identify these damages? Im planning on bringing it to a tire shop. If they think the damage is less severe than expected, I'm planning on taking to my girlfriend's uncle's auto repair shop. Not sure if theyre the best qualified to inspect the damage.

Ive read stories of people finding out that they have more severe problems that werent discovered initially. One guy ended up paying $4500 out of the pocket when he expected to pay far less. I want to avoid that.

I would take it to someplace that can do alignments. Even if there is no damage I would get the alignment checked.

Okay so Ive got some updates. I took it to an Express Tire and the guy wont even look at it and told me to go through the insurance and take it to a body shop. I then brought it to Discount Tires who told me the two rims are bent after taking off the wheels and inspecting them. I then took it to the girlfriend's uncle shop who visually inspected it with me and we only found the driver's side LCA bent. I will order these parts.

I am planning to order all four parts in #10: https://www.subarupartsamerica.com/p...gramCallOut=10

This is based on a visual inspection only. The mechanic recommended I start with changing these parts then getting an alignment to determine if anything else is bent.

I'm hoping these are the only parts I need replaced. I'm looking to pay $400 for the parts (used wheels) and about another $300 for the labor and $80 for the alignment.

If you bent a control arm your might want to consider getting your steering tie rods checked too. As you can see they are pretty flimsy parts:

Except in this case, there was no other car involved and no police report.
Therefore after he has it inspected, he could tell the insurance company: I just clipped a curb a few hours ago, what do I do?

They would have no way of telling that it really happened 48 or 72 hours ago.
Yes it is being dishonest, but in this case not quite to the level of being "fraudulent".

Valid points.

The tie rods looked surprisingly fine. I shouldve just replaced it as well since it's a cheap part. Going to see if my local dealership has any in stock.

Jfc.... go get it checked out before consulting insurance. That way you know if you can afford the repair out of pocket or not.

Can't afford the repair? Learn not to drive like a jackhole until you can.

Lesson learned, looks like it is a simple repair based on the "mechanics" visual.

After replacing the LCA and rims and getting an alignment i am not able to get my alignment completely in spec. It's possible i have a bent the subframe. How much does it cost to replace the subframe on this car?
