Hot August Nights...anyone going?

Never been but I was told it's fun. Thinking of going to Sparks, but I've been told they are all over.

Educated me people. Should we set up a meet at one?

It's fun, lots of nice cars. Traffic sucks going home. If you never been you should check it out.

The one in Danville ain't bad either. Traffic's not nearly as bad, and it's closer to home.

So they are everywhere then? We should try to set up a meet at one. Anyone up for that?

Father in Law has a very stock but clean 57 Chevy, so we go to quite a few of these. I get a bunch of funny looks since either A) Asian driving a 57 Chevy with an old white dude, or B) Usually following in a WRB WRX w/ gold wheels and red mudflaps (or now a BRZ with the same).

Good fun, been to one in Reno and many similar (closer) events. Since you're in Stockton, they have smaller events at the Fair grounds (don't know what they are called, but my father in law seems to find out on the paper). If you want larger events and like the super shiny, full custom cars, I'd check out the Good Guys meet in Pleasanton. On the flip side, if you are into rat rods, like me, check out Billetproof in Antioch here's a couple of pics from passed events.

WOW...thanks BigFatFlip. Those cars are amazing. I love the VW bus. We are thinking of going to Midnight Mass this weekend...I was invited by a friend that is going to be in the pinup contest.

Nice! Yeah, lots of pin-up/greaser looking folks at Billetproof (I feel out of place a lot of the time, but they are nice folk). Some pin-up chicks even do their photo shoots at the event it self, so I find myself getting "distracted" from the cars a lot of the time . Alot better than a bunch of old white dudes in hawaiian shirts (including my father in law) IMHO

I grew up in Reno, so I've to a lot of them. It's not the same as it used to. People aren't as nice and easy to talk to. It's still fun though.
