Does it work off 6Volt too? That would mean convenience of integration with the Toyota86 head unit. Does it have a wire to cut to remove the guidelines?

Not sure about the 6 volt issue, I have installed a couple of reverse cameras in to a few different vehicles (including my FRS) and have not had any issues with power off the main head units. There is no guide lines to speak of since this particular camera is designed for the BRZ head unit and that has guide line built in to it.

I am not clear from the pics but it looks as if the video cable does not go inside the light.

There is a "notched" slot in the upper portion of the lens, just below and behind the camera itself. That is where you route the cable through. The cable does not go in to the light housing itself but in to the slot provided.

I will get pictures of the install and let everyone know what I think of it. The Camera I have in there now got damaged when someone closed the deck lid down on to something. Anyway I will do a quick DIY of this camera once I get it and install it.

I forgot... my original install I used the BeSpoke camera wire harness. That was posted somewhere on this Forum. Anyway there is no need to run a power with all the way from the head unit to the rear. I just used the power source from the reverse light to power the camera. The only wire I have running to the front of the car is the RCA that sends the video to the head unit.
Reason for this was a cleaner install by not having to many wires running through the vehicle, not wanting to deal with more then one cable (lazy), the 6volt issue and having to wire in a relay. Besides when the reverse lights come on the camera comes on and that is fine by me.

That sounds great and would perhaps have saved me heaps of time and extra parts and wiring and farnarcling with soldering etc compared to the system that I ended up using.

Have you integrated yours into the Fujitsu-Ten satnav headunit?

I am proud of my DIY effort as suggested by another forum member (thanks GreenCounty). It has an advantage as it uses a single switch which allows full time front or rear view at any time. Also, neither camera is powered if not giving a picture. But as it sometimes fails to work correctly I would consider getting this system.

With a front cam I scrape more accurately

I am still waiting for an auto bumper raiser system. I would trade that for heated seats or the sound tube feature any day!

My camera was equipped with the Fujitsu-Ten but I've since upgraded to the Ca-Fi Dashlinq 4. That one actually had multiple inputs, so I could have skipped the switcher box, but then I'd have to mess around with the apps to view the aux input. The switcher box is a single button I have on my dash that lets me turn on the front view at any time, I don't need to see out my rear unless I'm in reverse, but had I wanted that, there was an option for that as well. The particular model I have didn't have it. Like the DIY option, neither camera has power until you press the switch or go into reverse.

This link lacks info on fitting the rear cam but there are many other posts on how to do that. One tip is to send the wiring down the center of the car rather than the side. I am pretty sure I posted other rear-cam tips ... search under Advanced with User Name notout86

Sorry ..... no pictures. Take a rear seat out.(Undo the bolt, press down hard near the rear of where you sit to free a hook, and lift up the front edge while still pressing Just run the wiring under near the center then to the front dash and tuck the wiring up under the edge of the center console.

No dissassembly necessary. Just push the wiring up under the lower console edge with your finger and it is jammed into the carpet and stays there. I have run wiring down the door sides as well the first time but would never again.
